That Perfect Feeling

We went to the shop (it was around 10 o'clock at night); TJ got himself and I both a coffee from the espresso machine, a packet of mint chocolate biscuits and a packet of caramel cookies.

Hand in hand we walked up the side of the main road in search for a place to sit, eat our food and cuddle while we stuffed our faces. We both walked up the hill to a store, jumped over the short wall surrounding the building, and sat down on the floor in the small, empty parking lot.

The store was closed and the streets were dead so we knew there would be no people silently judging us for sitting in an empty parking lot, hands entwined and our heads resting on one another.

With our backs against the wall, we opened the packets of biscuits. We laughed and talked about silly, random things.

I reached around to the back pocket of my jeans and pulled out my phone. I looked through my apps until I found Netflix. Opened the app and switched on a show for us to watch and turned up the volume so that it was loud enough for us both to hear.

"I love you," I said, head turning around to face TJ, who was still staring at my phone watching the show. I smile at him and then returned my attention back to my phone, head resting on his shoulder while his hand and arm rested along my back and shoulder.

"I love you too." He said, bringing his head down to kiss my forehead. I smiled, everything felt perfect.

I was with my best friend and boyfriend; sitting and cuddled up in an empty parking lot, with some junk food, feeding our faces, laughing and chatting about random things, a show in the background and the sky being a royal midnight blue.

Everything felt perfect. Everything felt magical and regardless of how simple and quaint everything was, it all felt right.

It felt like love.
