Somewhere in Neverland ? Connor McDonough/ Before You Exit Fanfic

Julia's POV

        I was flying around neverland, searching for Connor. Although, I knew all too well that he wasn't here. I could feel it in my heart and in my soul that he was anywhere but here... but where?

I flew around for a few more minutes until I saw a figure pop out of the clouds and I flew as fast as I could to get to it.

I was directly behind him now and I covered his eyes as he started freaking out.

"Guess who?", I said, softly and removed my hands from his eyes.

"Julia? You're flying!!!", he yelled and wrapped his arms around me. It was sort of funny to be hugged by the guy who didn't even know what hugging was yesterday.

"I'm flying!", I repeated and he smiled wider.

"What did you think about? What were your happy thoughts?"

I wanted to answer him but then I remembered what my happy thoughts really were and I decided against it so I shook my head and he pouted.

"Why not?", he asked.

"I'll tell you one day. Just not today."

"Are you mad at me or something?", he asked.

"No! Of course not!"

"Then why won't you tell me what your happy thoughts are?"

"I just don't wanna tell you yet. I prefer to keep some things to my self and this is one of those things", I replied, shrugging it off like it was no big deal but we both knew that it was.

I started flying away, wanting to get back to the treehouse but he grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me back so now I was even closer to him than I was before. His blue eyes seemed to be burning a hole into my face. His hand was still on my wrist and I was hoping that he would keep it there.

"Where did you even go?", I asked and he went pale.

"Well, I-I... umm... I went out looking for some breakfast."

"I flew around this entire place twice and I didn't see you anywhere. You better not be lying to me Connor", I said sternly and he turned around so that his back was facing me. "You are lying! Where did you go?"

He didn't answer my question. He just flew away as fast as he could and luckily this time I could fly too so it was much easier to keep up with him.

We were about 10 inches away from each other as we both continued to fly at lightning speed and he started asking me random questions.

"Julia, how old are you?"

"I don't know, Connor. Just come here and tell me where you went."

"When is your birthday?"

"I don't know! You better stop flying right now."

"How long do you think you've been in neverland?"

"I don't know. Forever?"

Suddenly he stopped flying and slammed into him making both of us spiral out of control for a few seconds and when we finally started floating normally again I noticed a look of satisfaction on his face.

"Why are you smiling like that?", I asked.

"Fine. I'll tell you where I was."

"Okay, where did you go?"

"I went to Orlando, Florida and visited a few people with the last name of Lynch", he said and I looked at him confused.

"I've never heard of that place and I've never heard of that name", I replied and his smile grew wider.

"Don't worry. They're not important."

James' POV

        "What do you think that was mom?", I asked, wiping a bead of sweat off of my forehead.

"I don't know, but I'm sure that it wasn't just the wind. It felt like someone was pushing the window down from outside."

"But who could it be? We didn't even see anyone out there. And it's not like it's possible to fly", I said, getting a little bit frustrated.

"James, calm down. It's 3 in the morning. We should just go back to bed."

"But what if that guy comes back and tries to close the window again?"

"Then we'll just open it again. Simple. You over complicate things too much", she said and I groaned.

"But what if we can't open it anymore?"

"James, that's enough. Go back to sleep", she said sternly and I obeyed, getting my pillow off of the floor and putting it back on the ledge as I lay down and draped a blanket over myself.

"Goodnight James. Don't worry, she'll come back."

I could here a little bit of doubt in my mom's voice but it didn't bother me at all because I already knew that, that possibility was very, very slim.

I looked up at the sky and noticed the second star from the right and I smiled remembering how much Julia loved that star.

Then one of those 'night clouds' passed by and covered it up completely and it didn't move at all after that.

To me it seemed like a sign. A sign that told me that Julia would never come back and I was beginning to accept that reality.
