Once they reach the small castle like building, they were in out of the cold. Sephony remembered how Hades was so tense so suddenly with a worried frown. She had no idea if he was okay or not, he hid his emotions like a wall of stone, cold and hard. She sighs as she takes in the homey type cabin feeling of the inside of the small castle. Hades castle was twice the size of this one, his having over two hundred room for people to stay in, to this one only having about twenty. She wasn't complaining though, it was a lot easier to know where you were going. Her hand still wrapped around Hades, they follow behind the creepy guard with the twins behind them. The twins chuckling to each other behind them as they walk along. They stop behind a door and the guard stands off to the side of it."They're waiting for you, best hurry now." He says looking straight at Hades. Hades growls silently to himself as he tugs Sephony towards the entrance and opens the door. The door creaks as it opens and Hades peeks inside to see the three fates sitting at a small table talking to each other intensely. He opens the door further and walks in with Sephony and the twins straight behind him. The fates gazes turn to them as they walk through the door.
"How welcome of you to join us, please sit." Nona, one of the fates says as she gestures towards the empty chairs on the other side of the table. Hades and Sephony look to each other and the twins sigh.
"I don't know about you, but I would like to sit, so do what you want pretty boy, but hurry it up. We've got things we have to get done." Misery says as he walks past Sephony and Hades and plops down into a nearby seat with a sigh. Pain rolls her eyes and takes the seat next to him with a small irritated sigh. Hades and Sephony look to the fates and then move to sit in a seat.
"No, the girl has to come with us." Decima, one of the other fates says as she stands up. Hades tenses as he gets back up out of his seat that he just sat in with a frown.
"Why? Can't I go with her, I'm her mate." Hades says and the fates shake their heads in unison with small smiles.
"It's part of the process King Hades, please rest assured that she will come back safe and untouched. This is what we do King, and if you don't mind we need to continue on with the ritual." Morta, the last of the fates says with a small laugh at the end. Hades backs down and sits down back in his seat with a frown. The guards words from earlier had him on edge and he wanted his mate near him for the time being, but he knew she had to do this, so he would push it away and let her go alone.
"Okay." He says finally and Sephony smiles at him.
"Don't worry, everything is fine. It'll only take a few moments and then I'm all yours." She says with a giggle and Hades laughs quietly and nods.
"Okay, so get in there and hurry your little but up." He says and she rolls her eyes at him.
"Of course, Mr. Bossy-pants." She says as she turns and follows the fates through a small door at the edge of the room on the other side of where they came in from. Hades watches Sephony go through the door and sighs once the door shuts and she's out of sight. The twins look to Hades with raised eyebrows as they smirk at him. He rolls his eyes as he slouches into his seat more.
"The guard from earlier said something that put me on edge is all." He says as he looks to them. The twins immediately sober up and put on serious faces as they hear their King on edge.
"What did he say?" Pain asks as she thinks about her Queen, that would be the only reason Hades would be on edge, if the guard said something about her he would be in serious trouble from the King. Hades sighs as he looks to Misery and Pain, two of his oldest friends.
"He said something about, they are watching. He put me on edge and I have no idea who they are so don't ask." He says as he gives them a look. They roll their eyes in sync, which was really creepy, and give him a look.
"They are watching, watching you or Sephony?" Misery asks as he crosses his arms with a look of consideration.
"Sephony." Hades says with a small growl at the end.
"Hold your horses pretty boy, they are only watching. Do you think it might be the council? We all know how hostile they could be because of last time." Pain suggests as she looks to Hades and her brother.
"I mean, last time they killed all the hybrids, do you think that maybe they've started a rebellion, that they are waiting for the time to strike?" She asks curiously and Hades rubs his temples in exhaustion.
"I don't know, but I do know that I don't like the thought of it." He tells them with a shrug.
"Well if anything was to come after the Queen, Pain and I would protect her with our life. As would Cerberus." Misery says as he pats Hades back in comfort. Pain nods her head immediately and laughs.
"Cerberus wouldn't let anyone within an mile of her, you wouldn't either, you overprotective dogs." She says as she rolls her eyes at his expression. Hades looks to her with a small smile at how they both tried to cheer him up.
"I'm not a dog and neither is Cerberus, I'm a God and he's a hell hound. It's simple science really." He says sarcastically and Misery rolls his eyes.
"You two give me a headache." He mutters as he listens to the two talk.
At the corner of the room stands a figure with a small smirk. He silently laughs at their presence. They would never notice him even if they tried.
They truly were watching.
