(Keeli X Reader) Falling PART 1

Start from the beginning

If there is peace, what will this mean for the Jedi?

What will it mean for the clones?

And what of Keeli?

"The votes have been counted!" Chancellor Palpatine declared. "It seems to be the unanimous decision of the Galactic Senate that the Republic accept the Separatists terms for surrender, hereby ending the Clone War."

Cheers echoed through the room, and (Y/N) found herself nearly falling backwards. The war was over...

"Because of this conclusion to the galaxy-wide conflict, we will begin the process of deciding how best to handle the surrender of the Separatists and the remainder of our clone army shortly," Palpatine said. The moment that he ceased to speak, the senators began racing to leave the room, seemingly desperate to get their next order of of business put together. Surely many demands would be made, especially from the Kaminoans. (Y/N) could already see the startled and angered expression on the face of the senator from Kamino, which lead her to hold the sinking feeling that while the war was over, it would be a long time before the galaxy was truly at peace once more.

. . .

"Keeli, if you're forced into retirement...I just don't know what I'll do without you," (Y/N) confessed as she and her secret partner made their way into a secluded area.

"(Y/N), even if I am retired, it'll be a while before I have to leave. The Kaminoans will fight like crazy to keep the cloning process going as long as possible, so we have time to find a solution."

(Y/N) sighed and allowed herself to fall into his arms. She and Keeli had kept their relationship under wraps for nearly two full years by that point, and already she couldn't imagine returning to a life without him. Ever since their meeting when (Y/N) and her own clone battalion had been called to action as reinforcements for Jedi Master Ima-Gun Di on Ryloth, she had felt her connection to Keeli growing stronger with each passing day. The experience had taught both of them that there was more to the galaxy beyond what they were taught to feel and think, as (Y/N) felt that her love for Keeli only made her link to the force more powerful. The wonderful feeling of belonging that filled her heart had brought her to feel a new kind of peace. Unlike the way that she had been taught to clear her mind and allow herself to embrace an emptiness that would increase her reception to the force, (Y/N) found that accepting her feelings permitted her to do the same, with the difference being the fullness brought on by her emotions that filled her to the very brim. It was certainly a much more pleasant experience than the former.

"Keeli...I've been thinking about leaving the Order." (Y/N) said slowly. She felt Keeli stiffen, and she could not bring herself to meet his eyes as he gently pushed her away and held onto her shoulders.

"(Y/N), I don't want you to give up everything just because of me-"

"It isn't only because of you! The Jedi fail to recognize that emotions are not the path to the Dark Side! I didn't even know what happiness was until you encouraged me to let myself have feelings! To disregard everything that comes naturally to all living beings in the name of an ancient organization is no way to live! And I see that now..."

A silence hung between them for several moments.

"You've made up your mind, haven't you?" Keeli asked quietly. (Y/N) nodded. She had made up her mind long ago, however before that day she had been unable to put her thoughts into words. Now that she knew exactly how she felt, nothing could bring her to reach a different resolution.

. . .

"(Y/N) (L/N), I don't understand. Why do you want to abandon the Jedi Order when it needs you more than ever?" Master Mace Windu asked, unable to hide the confusion in his voice.
