Blessed ProphecyKeith stared at the screen as he sat in class. He wore a brown jacket, as the school's A/C was set to Antarctic at the moment, and he valued the feeling in his fingers. He was in English class, and he'd already completed the assignment for that day, thanks to his ability to comprehend his first and only language. So, he was tapping away at his wooden desk as he planned out what he wanted to do with the rest of his skill points.
But before that, he wanted to check up on another thing. "Stat check." He whispered under his breath, and the screen switched to the numbers that showed how strong his basic traits were.Strength: 9
Intelligence: 15
Endurance: 6
Agility: 11
Dexterity: 12
Wisdom: 39
Luck: 3It'd be an understatement to say he was disappointed. He knew he wasn't the most, well, physically strong guy, but c'mon. Nine?! Not to mention his Luck and Endurance. Those stats meant he'd be fucked if he was hit by someone as strong or stronger than him. So, he was only useful when it came to his mind. Great. He decided to schedule a work out routine to enhance his strength and endurance. But, he was pretty screwed when it came too Luck. It seemed like his most notable trait was his wisdom, which he'd bet was only that high because of his title/gift of Prophecy.
He caught himself going down a rabbit hole of complaining and self-pity. So, he distracted himself by looking at all the other things of his status. He willed the screen to tell him everything about himself. And a text box with all the relevant information about himself came up.Social Status: Idolized Lone Wolf
Attractiveness: 6/10 [Increases when you open up to people]
Most desired by -'Alright, you can stop now.' He thought towards the screen, which fizzed out of existence. Looking at a bunch of text that summarizes what your talents and faults are from an objective standpoint is extremely disheartening. He realized this now, and would never again submit himself to the fickle things, such as approval from a literal game screen.
The bell rang to tell everyone to switch classes, and Keith followed the horde of people heading towards his next class. He spent the rest of class that day pondering how he was going to make himself overpowered, and as he walked home from school, the way to strength came and hit him like a brick over the head. With a glint in his eyes, he ran all the way to the townhouse he lived in, and bolted straight into the kitchen.
"Search skill: Cooking!" He ordered his Game Screen, and it began to slowly load the results, as Keith prepared the kitchen and stroked his ego at how smart he was. He'd been thinking about how he was going to level up, and he remembered how the Screen had told him that you gain experience by using skills and abilities. And he personally didn't want to shoot cans all day, until he leveled up like he did after he created Mana Bullet. So, the best was to level up was to get a skill he could grind at that was also really fun. And, he'd already took a class in cooking back in middle school, so he'd probably get some of that backed up experience like the thing he'd gotten from trying to get Neutral Magic.
As he finished bringing out the bowls, spatulas, and other utensils, the Screen brought up some of the search results.
Searched term: CookingResults: Asian Cooking, African Cooking, European Cooking, and-
"Narrow results to All-Rounder Cooking."
Narrowed Results: Basic Cooking
That wasn't what Keith said, but he'd take it.
Basic Cooking: Basic Cooking is the basic groundwork for every type of cooking. It won't give any advantages when cooking with certain ingredients or utensils, but it allows the user to freely cook every kind of food without limitation. Obtain Skill?Keith agreed, and everything he'd learned from his cooking class flooded to the forefront of his mind. It was kind of scary, information flooding your mind suddenly, but as it happened, he looked around the kitchen and he saw bits and pieces of information. He saw that the Mixing Bowl was 78% clean. He saw how much time it'd take him to complete an action using a utensil. He felt himself grin as he was filled and surrounded in knowledge. Then, it all faded away when he stumbled upon a single question.
"What am I going to cook?" He unconsciously looked at the clock on the far wall. It was about six o'clock, and his family would be returning soon. He could make some dinner for them, but he didn't have enough time to really test the limits of his newfound skill. He went over to the fridge, and looked inside when more information flooded his senses.

Keith didn't really give a damn if his family didn't like it, he sure as hell wanted to try his cooking. So, he accepted, and felt a slight disconnect with his body. He ran around the kitchen, grabbing various utensils and ingredients that Keith hadn't even known they'd had.
Soon enough, his older brother, mother, and father all walked into the living room, and were enraptured by the scent of freshly cooked food. They all walked into the dining room, to see Keith finishing up the dressing for the fruit salad. His face was meshed together in concentration as he went over to the table to see his family all there, staring at him, then the food, then back to him.
"Damn, I was sure you guess would get here after I'd finished cooking." He muttered as he moved passed them to put the sauce on the salad. "Well, bon appetite." He said as he took the plate he'd made for himself and walked over to his room, leaving his family staring at him as he left.
When he entered the room, a few blocks of text appeared out of the corner of his eye.Fed Samuel: Appreciation 90% Enjoyment 75% (+5% for attachment to the Chef) Fullness 60%

Gained title: [Josen Family Cook]
Gained Ability: Keith's Stew and Salad Dish!
Experience: 20/200Gained Ability: [Chef's Intuition] gained!
Basic Cooking [Beginner] is now Basic Cooking [Skilled Beginner]
Gained Ability [Kitchen Awareness]Keith was glad the Game Screen didn't have notification noises, or his eardrums would've been long gone at that point. He quickly went over his new skills, abilities and traits. [Kitchen Awareness] was just that he now had a mental map of every item that is in every kitchen he'll ever enter. Which will be useful if he or anyone loses something in a kitchen. [Chef's Intuition] said he'd be able to see who'd like a dish he'd made, and what are the odds their allergic to it.
He was already level 8 just two days after he'd gotten the GS. He was feeling confident, but he also felt he was lacking something. He was already a standard anime protagonist, but he had no conflicts. And he knew the second he thought of this, that he'd just jinxed himself.[Aye, another chapter for this, Because I felt like it. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed, and I'll see you next time.]
