One Step at A Time (Wraith x Mirage)

It was finally 5:00 in the morning, the usual time Renee (Wraith) wakes up. She usually goes out to her early morning jogs but she didn't feel like it today, since today was her first time on a date. 

It wasn't just a date, it was a blind date, one which Natalie (Wattson) made for her. She didn't want to but Natalie kept insisting she'd do it. 

Yesterday

"Come on Renee!!" Natalie said

"Nat! I already said 'no'!'" Renee yelled back

"pleeeeeaaaaaassssseeeee"

"If i say 'yes' will you stop bothering me?" Renee sighed looking at Natalie

"Yes, I zwear" Natalie put her pinkie up, "I pinkie promise"

Renee sighed and put her pinkie around Natalie's to secure the promise.

Now continuing the other part of the story

Renee sat up in her bed looking down on her blue clean sheets, Why am I doing this?, she thought to herself. She never intended on doing it but she also didn't want to be bothered by Natalie the whole day. She finally got up when she heard her phone go off, it was Elliott (Mirage).

"Hello?" she answered

"Heyyyyy!" Elliott answered back super excited for something

"Why are you awake at this time?" Renee said while rubbing her neck, seemed like she had some neck pain from training the other day

"Woke up from a major headache from drinking too much..." he sounded very disappointed 

"oh...make sure to drink coffee then?"

"Oh don't worry I intend to, anyways I heard from Natalie you have a date~" he laughed 

"Of course she told people, but yea I do but don't make a big deal out of it I only did it because she kept annoying me about it.."

"Right-o, well I'm off probably going back to sleep, bye bestie!!"

Those words annoyed Renee a lot, she never thought of Mirage that way, only as a friend, not a "best friend" but he always used it nonetheless.

At the date

It's been 10 minutes into the date and Renee already regrets saying yes. She was on a date with one of Natalie's old high school buddies and immediately thought it was weird. She wished she'd call saying she didn't feel good instead of actually going. 

"Hey wanna see something?" her date asked

"...not really?" Renee replied

"oh...well look!" he lifts up his shirt showing a tattoo of her face on his chest, "I got this last year when I first started watching the games, I never thought it was good but then I saw you and became a huge fan!"

"I...don't know what...to say" Renee said holding herself back from running away, "That's sweet??" 

"I KNOW RIGHT!! My friends told me I was being obsessive but they don't understand how cool you are! You're like the best there!!" the man says holding her hands close to him.

"I honestly doubt that, there's way better players than me in the Games" she replied while slowly taking her hands back from him. "I think it's time I leave, I uh have to train for something...bye!" she then bolted out of the restaurant while her date cried out for her.
