I jumped at the sound of Jake flicking his flashlight on me. He laughed as I groaned in annoyance.

"Jake! Stop doing that you dingus!" I whisper-yelled. He giggled in response and pranced off to some other part of the map. I sighed shakily and looked around. I haven't seen the killer yet so I might as well help with doing some generators. I nervously looked around just in case it was a sneaky killer- like Ghostface or Michael.

I got lost in my thoughts, thinking about bits and pieces of my life before all this. I was brave and smart- now I'm just scared of everything. Sometimes I can't even remember many details about my past before all this...

"Boo~"

I shrieked and his hand immediately slapped over my mouth. I mumbled in protest till my heart started to thump. The hairs on my neck stood up- the killer was getting closer. I scowled towards Jake and got into the locker closest to me. The man grumbled and opened the locker I was in; squishing himself next to me- our chests pressed together. I attempted to calm down, I knew he would feel it. It was like I was about to have a heart attack or something.

Jake suddenly clasped my hand with his own and gave me a reassuring smile. The killer, The legion, walked passed the locker. He grumbled in annoyance and trudged off, swearing as he did so.

I think that was Frank?

I let out the breath that I was holding and placed my head on Jake. He looked down at me and smiled.

"Feeling better?" He asks with an eyebrow raised. I nodded and slowly pushed open the locker doors. My heart was still drumming against my rib cage, but that was for another reason... I immediately started working on the gen with Jake, stealing glances from time to time. Every time he would catch me staring, he would flash me this boyish grin. I even blew up the generator when he did stuff like that.

It would just catch me off guard, my cheeks would flare up and spread throughout my body.

I sat next to Jake at the campfire since I've known him the longest. We even knew each other in our 'past lives'. All he did was scare me when I was getting coffee. He offered to buy me a new one since I spilled it everywhere. That time he caught me off guard- I didn't expect anyone else to be there so early!

"Earth to L/n!" Jake waved his hands infront of me. "hey, want some of these? The entity decided to throw us a little party. This beer is kinda gross... but it's also kinda good."

I chuckled and accepted, drowning the entire bottle in one go. The other survivors cheered and did the same. Jake chuckled beside me and hugged me. I was feeling a little woozy to be honest. He probably doesn't even know what's going on. Either way, I returned the embrace and kissed his cheek.

"Finally! I've been waiting a damn long time for these two lovebirds to get together. And the only way was through alcohol... Imma just sing y'all a song." Kate pulled out her guitar and let her fingers glide across the finger board. She cleared her throat and flashed a smile.

Once Kate finished the song, all the survivors clapped. Jake and I turned to each other and grinned like a bunch of idiots.

"It sucks that alcohol made me brave enough to say this- but I've liked you since that day we met at the coffee shop." I blushed and looked down to my lap.

Jake lifted my chin and let his lips linger on mine... he parted with a grin.

"I feel the same way."
