The Moon Goddess' Challenge

The sunlight seeped through my curtains causing me to wince from the brightness. That's how I woke up though every morning.

I don't necessarily rely so much on technology because there are too many faults and besides, I'm a witch that knows practically every spell there is and if I need something I can get it.

Once I woke up a little more and went to pour myself some cereal, I saw my best friend and roommate, Payton.

Payton and I are both curvy, well, I'm a little curvier than she is actually but still. We have been best friends since we were four years old and the moment we became old enough, her and I both decided we wanted to live in the states and own our own place where all magic people could come and feel safe.

It sounds crazy, I know. Mythical creatures, those with power and abilities, the freaks humans call us because they fear what they heard in folklore are living together? The truth is that despite the 'gifts' we had been given, we too like similar things as the humans do such as going to see movies, liking the same types of foods, etc.

I have always been fascinated with humans. They have their ways of doing things and unfortunately, sometimes I have felt bad for those who try really hard and don't get anywhere or appreciated even. At times, I help out and give them things.

The tricky part about that though is I have to be careful. Because the deal is that if we were to live among humans, despite for the good or not, we were not allowed to use magic on them.

We had to create a barrier that identified humans, from magic folks and especially werewolves.

I swear, ever since they began trying to start a fight yeas ago with us, they have become our enemies.

They are egotistical, most obnoxious macho shitheads that are too into themselves and could care less about certain laws. Not to mention they are highly temperamental and  their whole process with the mating thing is crazy. I mean, come on, somebody puts you and that person together? Yeah, not real.

"You ready to head over to the shop?" Payton asks already at the door with the keys to her blue jeep wrangler. That's one of her favorite human items she owns.

"Yep." I mumble with my mouth full as I take one last bite of cereal and start heading after her.

When we pulled up to the shop, I took out the keys and before unlocking the door, we noticed a big red sign on the window to the vacant building next door that said, 'SOLD'.

"Wow. Never thought we would see the day when somebody would actually buy that place." Payton comments.

"Yeah." I replied then opened the door and turned on the lights before we started setting things up and getting prepared for the day and ended up having an awesome day.

One of our regulars, came in and walked up to the bar to order a drink and started mentioning about the information on next door.

"Hey!" I greeted him with a smile and 'Poison Apple', a drink that I had made up and happens to be his favorite.

"So did you hear what that place next door is going to be?" He asks.

"No. But then again I don't really care, as long as they don't bother us we won't bother them." I shrugged.

"Yeah but it's gonna be a tattoo shop." He says.

"That's fine. Again I don't care, just as long as they mind their own business." I tell him.

He laughed a little bit before taking a drink from his glass.

He really is a cute and great sorcerer but I can tell that I'm not really his type. He always hits on the skinny ones.

The rest of the day seemed to have gone by fast and right as I was closing up and turned to start walking home, I looked and saw the light next door was on.

Curious to see if it was the owner and what he looked like, I started looking through the window and I couldn't believe who I saw.

He couldn't be ny neighbor. What the hell?! This has to be a mistake.....Alpha Caspian? Seriously?!
