Isabelle sighed watching Cristiano prepare to return to work, she was grateful that he had stayed with her for as long as possible but she didn’t want him putting his life on hold for her.

“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” Cristiano asked pulling on his jeans, he peeked at Isabelle knowing that he would call Carlo Ancelotti and cancel his return; his girlfriend was more important to him right now.

Isabelle laughed softly and nodded her head, she could see that he was a little nervous about leaving her alone but she wasn’t going to be; his mother was here and Junior could keep her company until he came back from training.

“I’ll be fine… go to training,” Isabelle said smiling, she was sure that everything would be perfectly fine until he got back and she doubted anything would happen in the three hours that he would be gone.

Cristiano nodded his head slowly, he wasn’t happy about going to training while Isabelle was laid up in bed; he felt bad since her career was hanging in the balance right now.

“Cris… I’ll be fine,” Isabelle said reaching for her boyfriend’s hand, she gave it a squeeze as she gently tugged him closer; she was happy to watch his play and they should enjoy it right now.

Isabelle would start physiotherapy soon and when she did, there were days that she would hate him for being able to do what he did while she was learning to walk again.

However right now, Isabelle was perfectly happy about how things were happening and she couldn’t hate him for doing his job.

“Are you sure?” Cristiano asked nervously, he didn’t want Isabelle to think that she wasn’t important to him; she meant so much to him and he wished that there was something that he could do to make this better.

Isabelle nodded her head, she kissed Cristiano hoping that he would relax and calm down; she wasn’t going anywhere and she was happy that he was being so supportive.

Dolores smiled watching Isabelle with Junior, she knew that the last few weeks had been far from easy and she hoped that it would get better; there was still a long road ahead for Isabelle’s recovery.

“What would you like for lunch?” Dolores asked stepping into the bedroom, she was doing her best to make sure that everything was okay while her son was at training and work.

Isabelle looked up at Dolores and nodded her head, she was glad that Cristiano’s mother was with them especially since she gave Cristiano a break from looking after her.

“I don’t mind,” Isabelle mused brushing her fingers through Junior’s hair, she felt bad about missing the little boy’s birthday but she had been in hospital when it had happened.

Dolores nodded her head, she was sure that Cristiano would show up soon instead of staying back like he usually did; she was happy that he had found someone like Isabelle to love.

“I’ll make some soup,” Dolores said knowing that by the time that she was done that Cristiano would be home; he hadn’t been able to stay away from Isabelle for long and she doubted that would change anytime soon while his girlfriend was bedridden.

Isabelle watched Dolores leave, she hoped that she would be able to get her cast off soon; the district nurse was pleased with her recovery and she couldn’t wait to start her physio.

“Shall we watch a movie?” Isabelle said to Junior, she wasn’t sure what would happen when she started her physiotherapy but she wasn’t going to let it affect Junior.

The little boy didn’t deserve to be put through anymore drama and Isabelle knew that Cristiano would have to focus on his son at some point.

“How are things at home?” Sergio asked looking at Cristiano after training, he knew that everyone had been worried when the news had broken that Isabelle had been run over by Irina.

The entire team had been shocked after what had happened, they had seen how devastated Cristiano had been when he had been told Isabelle was in a coma; it had frightened them all about how he had reacted.

“Things are good,” Cristiano murmured glad that things were getting back to normal, he knew it would be a long road ahead of them and he was hopeful.

Sergio and Iker shared a look, they both knew that Cristiano hadn’t reacted well when Isabelle had been in a coma; the infection had only made things worse.

“And how are you?” Iker asked worried for Cristiano, he had been off since what had happened and he hoped that it wouldn’t get worse when Isabelle started to get better.

Cristiano paused for a moment and looked at his friends, he knew that they were worried about him and he didn’t blame them; he hadn’t reacted well and he was doing better now.

“I’m doing better,” Cristiano said taking a deep breath, he wasn’t sure what he would have done if something had taken Isabelle from him; he wanted nothing more than to forget that Isabelle could have been killed.

Cristiano ran a hand through his hair, he was already making sure that Irina didn’t get away with this; she was being kept in prison and that was what mattered to him.

“You can talk to us Cris… this can’t be easy,” Iker said wanting to help his friend as much as possible, he knew that things would be far from easy when Isabelle started her physiotherapy.

Cristiano blinked staring at Iker, he was glad for the offer and he knew that he would need someone when things got tough; he was going to do his best to support Isabelle when she needed him.

Slowly nodding his head, Cristiano continued to get ready to go home and he wasn’t going to stay away for long; he knew that Isabelle would be okay but he didn’t like being away from her.

Cristiano chewed on his lip moving to check his phone, his mother would be able to look after Isabelle just fine but he didn’t want to stay away long; it wasn’t fair on Dolores who was looking after Isabelle and Junior.

“I have to get home,” Cristiano said packing his things, he wanted nothing more than to show that he was okay; he wanted to prove that he was strong.

Iker sighed and nodded his head, he moved away from Cristiano so that he could get ready to head home to his pregnant girlfriend; he didn’t want to fuss over Cristiano too much.

Cristiano closed his eyes, he knew that this wasn’t going to be easy and he was glad that everything had worked out so far; he loved Isabelle and he didn’t care how long it took for her to get better.

Cristiano was going to support her no matter what happened, Isabelle deserved so much better and it was his fault that she had been targeted by Irina; he was determined to make things right and he was going to ensure that nothing bad ever happened to her again.

“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Cristiano called walking out of the locker room, he had no idea what he would have done if he hadn’t gone back to training.

Iker sighed and shared a look with Sergio, they were going to have to keep an eye on Cristiano; they didn’t need their star player getting put down by drama at home.
