I stumbled out of the trees, still dizzy from the crashing the magic carpet. My ankle hurt with every step, and the cuts on my cheek were bleeding out. No one gave a glance, but I didn't care. I looked like a mess anyways. I just had one goal. I needed to get some assistance.
I was so stupid. I was so eager to get home I forgot to control my speed.
The village was lit up, with worried murmurs. I walked down the dirt path, backpack swung over one shoulder. Everyone seemed to be outside. I walked over to a little girl, with bubblegum pink hair. I bent down. "Hey! What's your name?" She looked up at me and gave me a small smile.
"Mine?"
I nodded. "Yeah!" I bit back a wince as another sharp jolt of pain shot through me and kept a straight face.
"My name is Selene!"
"Hello, Selene! Do you happen to know where the queen and her sisters are?"
She obviously did not know it was me, by what she said next. "I know where the queen is, along with 2 of her sisters. In case you haven't heard, one's missing."
I smiled, then asked her to take me to them. She was hesitant, but after she glanced at my cuts, she jumped up and motioned for me to follow. "What happened?" She asked as I limped behind her. "Oh, this? I fell into a thorn bush." It was close enough to the truth, and my heart twisted at the thought of my magic carpet still tangled up in the thorns
She shot me a glance of worry. "The nurse can fix you up! Nurse... nurse...." The bubblegum hair girl wrinkled her nose. "I don't remember her name. I think it was Nurse Lily?" I chuckled. "Maybe."
She walked me up to a house on the edge of town, a light streaming through the window. From the door, I could hear Rainbow's panicked voice and Funneh telling her to calm down. I could hear Kyran talking in murmurs to someone and I could hear Alec's voice faintly. I couldn't hear Gold for some reason.
I raised my hand and knocked on the door. Once, twice. The house went silent and the door swung open and Rainbow let out a cry of joy.
"LUNAR!"
I caught a small glance of the small girl's bewildered face before I was swept in Rainbow's hug. I laughed, and let out a cry of pain and she let me back down again. Funneh came rushing out of the house, followed closely by Kyran. Their hair was a mess, and Funneh had a minor cut on her arm. They both yelled my name and rushed over to me.
"About time! Did you at least bring back chips?" Funneh asked, embracing me. Kyran patted my shoulder. "Good to have you back, psychopath." He commented. I laughed. Over their shoulders, I could see Rainbow talking to Selene. The little girl was beaming with pride and skipped off.
I was herded inside, into a small, one-room house. I looked around. There was a singular bed, and I counted four sleeping bags on the ground. A lantern hung above our heads, and there were two circle windows. One to my left and one to my right. The floor was a light brown colour. Oak if I had to guess. There was a small kitchen area and a door on the far side which I guessed was the bathroom. The middle of the circular room was a huge, white, fluffy circle rug. The house smelled like cedar. There was a log table covered in paper with 4 chairs surrounding it.
Gold was seated on the bed, looking down at her shoes. Alec was pacing back and forth. I raised my hand in hello when he passed, but his eyes glided over me as if I was not there. I instead went over to Gold and sat next to her.
"Hey Gold."
She looked up at me, a blank stare in her eyes. Silence. Then she opened her mouth.
"I'm sorry... do I know you?"
。。。
I was seated at the table. Rainbow was rusting through the huge pile of paper and Funneh was with Kyran near the back of the house, discussing defensive strategies. My mind was racing.
"Funneh managed to warn us just in time, and we managed to reach Gold and Alec before they froze over. We couldn't find you though. The two were passed out, but we managed to wake them up. They had no recollection of anything, or anyone. They didn't even know their names, about Draco, or even about the Krewdom. Both of them didn't even remember YHS! I was surprised they still remember how to walk and talk."
I did that. I made the memory wipe too strong.
I shook my head violently and before I was too lost in my own thoughts. I turned to Rainbow. I needed more information.
"What's happened to the castle?"
"It's still freezing over. In layers. The ice gets thicker every day. I sent some guards to check on it yesterday, and the report says that the ice is up to their shoulders. But how...."
Rainbow trailed off and my mind clicked. I was quickly lost in thought.
Well, better now than later.
I reached into my bag and pulled it a glass vile from under the table. Sky-blue liquid swirled inside. As soon as I open this bottle, I will be able to control time for a small amount of time. I didn't have much of the potion, so I would have to be quick.
From what Rainbow had said, this potion should stop the ice from layering up while I am in there. According to what I have read, all I need to do is to find the source and melt it with the emerald flames.
Not too hard.
I stood up and made for the door, the bottle still clutched in my hand. I was still limping slightly, but no matter. I reached for the door handle when suddenly a hand grabbed me.
"You're not going anywhere."
"Rainbow let me go!"
"You're still hurt! I'm not going to lose you again so easily!"
The bottle was crushed in my hand, the liquid spilling everywhere. Everything froze. Rainbows furious face, Funnehs worried face, Alec's confused face, Kyrans shocked face, and even Gold's blank face.
I have 15 minutes.
