April 2018

Taylor is standing at the kitchen counter when she hears her fiancée shuffle into the room, Karlie's long arms wrapping around her waist from behind.

Karlie leans against Taylor nuzzling her face into the back of her neck before reaching for Taylor's deserted coffee mug and sipping from it.

"Breakfast," Taylor says, glancing over her shoulder and meeting Karlie's eyes with a soft smile.

"Hm?" Karlie asks blinking heavily, her tiredness obvious.

Taylor motions to the plate of avocado toast next to the skillet with two sunny side up eggs and Karlie's smile widens.

"You're the best," Karlie whispers into her ear when she passes by her to sit at the kitchen island and Taylor doesn't respond, just shoots her a soft smile and digs into her breakfast.

Karlie moves to connect her phone to the bluetooth speaker and Taylor takes advantage of her momentary distraction, stealing a bite from Karlie who tries to yelp in complaint but has a mouth full of food so all that comes out is a vague sound of dissatisfaction that Taylor ignores.

"Hey!" Karlie complains. "Get your own."

"I made that for you," Taylor points out as she steals her cup of coffee back from Karlie.

"Why didn't you make some for you too?" Karlie argues, realising the hypocrisy of the situation when Taylor sips from her coffee mug but being in too deep to let it go now.

"Because I don't want toast," Taylor teases and Karlie just shakes her head, looks to the skies as if for patience before shooting Taylor an exasperated look that Taylor ignores as she fixes herself a bowl of yoghurt and berries and starts eating it.

"What time is your Mom coming over at?" Karlie asks around a mouthful of eggs.

"I'm going to go over to her for lunch and then we'll probably come back here."

"Tell her I'll see her at dinner," Karlie says as she finishes her breakfast and gets up rinsing her plate in the sink before wrapping her arms around Taylor's waist as she leans in and nuzzles her neck playfully and kissing her cheek repeatedly.

"You look good," Taylor says when she finally takes in Karlie's ensemble, her eyes trailing down Karlie's blazer with rolled up cuffs, her white shirt and dark jeans.

"Just good?" Karlie asks pulling her closer, swallowing Taylor's laugh with a kiss.

"You look gorgeous," Taylor amends, reaching up and pushing Karlie's hair back off her face.

"I aim to please," Karlie flirts.

"You definitely do."

"Good enough to eat?" Karlie asks raising an eyebrow.

Taylor rolls her eyes and tries to squirm away from Karlie who just tightens her hold on the blonde.

"You're not even going to kiss me goodbye?" Karlie asks incredulously between giggles.

"Not anymore," Taylor teases pressing a hand against Karlie's chest.

"One of these days, you're going to appreciate my jokes."

"Don't hold your breath babe."

Karlie scoffs and shakes her head before pushing away from the kitchen counter.

Taylor yanks her back by her collar and presses a heated kiss to her lips. "Bye."

"I love you," Karlie says when Taylor lets go of her, trying to shake off the sudden flash of heat.
