Lee Tina dashed down the long, winding streets to get to her school. She turned the corner and felt a weight lift off her chest as she saw the school in sight, gates open, students filing in. Her desperate run became a calmed walk as she followed a tall boy and a timid girl into the prison known as school.
She trudged to her locker and gathered the books she'd need for the day. When she closed the door, she saw her dear friend, Lara.
"Hey T!" Lara beamed.
"Hey." Tina answered.
"Did you see Seonghwa today?" she asked, fanning herself.
Seonghwa was the school's prince. He always looked good and was dignified and kind like a posh guy. All the girls swooned over him, including Lara, but Tina didn't see the point of love at all. It always led to heartbreak anyway.
"Nope." She said as they walked down the corridor towards class.
"Oh my god, let me tell you. He was wearing a black shirt with skinny jeans and a black belt and his forehead was showing about 3mm more than usual and his shoes were polished and he smiled more." She gushed.
Tina sighed, "You obsess over him too much."
"Do not. If anyone's obsessing over anyone it's you and San." Lara retorted.
"Yeah, but I obsess over killing him and making him regret everything he's ever done. Not... whatever you do to Seonghwa."
She snorted, "Yeah right."
"Shut up," growled Tina.
Lara chuckled and they walked through the wooden door.
The girls weren't sat together unfortunately. In fact, they were sat on opposite sides of the classroom.
When Tina got to her desk she saw a paper scrunched up on her table. She timidly picked it up.-
Watch out... Today's gonna be different, you know what I can do.
In the familiar handwriting of her enemy, Choi San. She turned and saw his eyes burning into her, a smirk painted on his perfect face.
His hair was black and red and his eyes a dark brown. He always looked surprisingly neat and had a playful grin on his face at all times.
She scrunched the note back up and threw it at him. He dodged it and left it on the floor, his eyes never moving, the smirk never leaving. She rolled her eyes groaning and sat down on her chair, secretly quite scared. She did know what San could do and she wasn't looking forward to it. He would wait after school outside the gates for her just to pour a clear, sticky substance on her that she still hadn't figured out. It would stay for hours and she'd have to have a shower as soon as she got home without her cruel parents spotting her.
So she was scared. Terrified you could say. But rule number one was never show fear to your enemies so she hid it with a challenging grin. Then, the teacher waltzed in and the lesson started.
San watched Tina from afar throughout the whole lesson. She looked perfectly relaxed and normal to everyone, even her best friend that was sitting two desks away from him, but he could tell she was alert. How she leaned her head on her left hand instead of her right so she could keep an eye on him, how she kept her legs and arms close so he could never get to them. It gave him a new kind of joy that he struck this kind of fear inside her. How she was absolutely terrified. How she tried to hide it. He loved it all. But there was one part of him that told him to stop. That she was like anyone else, forced by parents, wants to go home, hates school, all the homework, everything you'd expect from a normal teenager. But that was what scared him. That he hesitated to pull all the tricks on her. That he thought about whether it would affect her too much or not. He was softening up. He barely pulled pranks on his classmates anymore, solely focusing on her. And it scared him. How could he, son of the boss of some important company, grow soft? He worried and worried about it throughout the entire lesson, his brows furrowed as he bit his soft lip. What woke him from his daydreams, was the bell signalling lunch.
He flew out of his daydream, realising he was staring directly at Tina. She gave him a confused look before walking out with Lara. His cheeks flushed as he buried his face in his arms groaning.
"Is something wrong San? You seemed very... distracted this lesson." The teacher asked.
San's head whipped up, if the teacher noticed then everyone would've been able to. He groaned more, now angry with himself as he grabbed his stuff, shoved it in his bag and stormed out of the classroom.
He went into the bathroom and glared at himself in the mirror. After a while, he became hungry so he went to eat.
Meanwhile, Tina was with Lara in the cafeteria.
"-it was so weird. He just wouldn't stop. He just stared, and stared, and stared." Tina was saying.
"Maybe he was watching. To see you react to the note, or something I don't know." Lara shrugged unhelpfully.
"Maybe..." Tina mumbled.
Just then, San himself walked in. He avoided her gaze as he walked towards his group of friends.
Odd indeed. Tina couldn't just shrug it off as usual. Something was wrong with him. Her eyes widened as she looked down at herself.
"Something wrong?" Lara asked, concerned.
"No... nothing." Tina replied quickly. "I just need a minute."
She left her stuff in the safe hands of Lara as she walked rather quickly to her locker. Once she reached it, she slid down the door and wrapped her arms around her knees.
"What's going on...?" she whispered.
She shook herself and stood up clenching her fists. She heard the bell and walked back to class expecting Lara to bring her bags - which she did. The teacher, as usual, was late so the class spent a full 10 minutes sitting around.
San knew that Tina knew that he was acting odd. So he had to do something about it. But what could he do? Today's prank was to make her think there was a prank but not actually prank her. Oh well. Desperate times call for desperate measures. He remembered what his father had said to him once when he was still a little boy.
"And remember son, eliminate any competition. It's the only way you'll win."
San clenched his fists and stood up, his chair scraping on the floor.
"Tina," he said through gritted teeth.
Her head turned, everyone's head turned.
"I told you to watch out..." He lifted his face and smirked, "I told you today would be different," he raised his fists in front of him. "So, you gonna wimp outta this one?"
(A/N) And I'm back! I've been working on this for a few months now and decided 'Hey should I publish it to let my people know I'm not dead?' So here it is.
WARNING: This story is an absolute mess and I have no idea what was going through my brain at certain parts. It also has no plot whatsoever.
