"6am? Who even wakes up that early?" she asked herself as she called and put the phone to her ear.

Almost immediately, it was picked up.

"Tina!" came Lara's excited voice.

"Yes?" replied Tina, tiredly.

"I think San likes you,"

"What?!" Tina cried.

"Everything ok?" San called from his room.

"Yep, just fine." she shouted back to him.

"You called me at 6 to tell me that?"

"Uh huh."

"Go on then..." Tina tried to hide her excitement but it was pretty obvious she was.

"Well..."

A few minutes later Lara had finished her speech and Tina was baffled.

"You see?"

"Uh yeah..." Tina said, too shocked for words.

"So I think you should tell him."

"I can't..."

"Why not? There's no worry about him not liking you back."

"Yeah but... I can't. I don't know why I just can't...Let's pretend this conversation never happened."

"Sure, I mean if that's what you want then..." Lara said.

"It is what I want."

"Ok then, so what do you-" She paused for a second. "Oh great, sorry Tina we have to go shopping now."

Tina nodded, "Sure, I'll go find something else to do bye!"

Tina ended the call and got up to go get some breakfast. After eating she lounged about for a bit before going to her source of fun, San.

"San," she called, walking into his room. "I'm bored again,"

"Are you?" he hummed.

"Yes"

"Well what do you wanna do?" he asked, putting his pen down.

"I don't know," she shrugged,

"Well if you don't know then what can I do?" he said.

"I don't know, something?"

"Why don't you go out for a walk or something."

"I can't be bothered."

He arched his brow as he looked at her.

"What are you doing?"

"Homework." he said.

"What homework? Is it the math homework? Please say it is I need help on it." she walked over.

He covered his papers quickly.

"Do your own homework," he laughed.

"But I can't!"

"Seriously? It's as easy as... I don't know, walking!" he was still laughing.

She crossed her arms and glared at him unsuccessfully. Soon she was giggling beside him on the floor. After their laughing fit ended she was exhausted. How do you get tired from laughing? she thought as she rested her head on his thigh, catching her breath.

She felt him tense beneath her and lifted her head straight away.

"Sorry." she mumbled.

When she looked up at him he was already back to doing his homework. She lay her head back down daringly. This time he didn't tense, he didn't even flinch. He simply continued doing his work. So she didn't move, instead she pulled out her phone

After an hour or so she was asleep.

San had just finished planning everything out deciding the best idea was to just YOLO it. Yes he did lie to Tina, he wasn't doing homework, he was planning her birthday out. But he had to lie, he told himself. He flicked his gaze to her and saw she was at peace and asleep. He let out a soft smile. He checked the time and decided they could miss lunch. He wouldn't end this moment for the world.

After a while she sat up. He looked down and saw her rubbing her eye tiredly.

"Good morning Sleeping Beauty." he mused.

"Morning," she mumbled back.

She slumped back down onto him, her eyes slowly closing.

"Stay up we're going for lunch."

"What time is it?"

"It's like 3."

Tina sat up as he stood.

She held her hand up to him, "Pull me up."

He took her hand, feeling sparks as they touched, and pulled her up gently. But of course she wasn't going to try and stand so she made contact with his chest. He froze for a second before holding her by the shoulders and pulling him off her.

"Get up."

"Can we go out to eat?" she asked.

He nodded, "Alright then."

Tina walked to the room and picked an outfit. She settled on a black pleated mini-skirt with a maroon top and a white knitted scarf. Perfect - she decided - for the windy weather. She slipped on her boots and walked to the kitchen to grab a chocolate bar before heading into the car where San was waiting.

"Never seen that skirt before." he said.

"I don't wear it often, why don't you like it?" she asked

"It's a little... small." he narrowed his eyes as he started driving.

"That's the point."

He hummed instead and went to the same restaurant they went to last time. The table they wanted was already booked so they found a different one instead, more isolated and in the corner.

They ordered and ate in a relaxing silence until he suddenly brought up a topic she wasn't too pleased about.

"My dad cut his visit short." he mumbled.

Her eyes widened, "When's he coming back?"

"5 days."

"Oh... It's ok, I'll go stay with Lara or something." she reassured, though it wasn't very reassuring.

"No, no. I'll think of something, I promise." he quickly said.

She nodded slowly, "Alright."

She didn't want to leave him so she was delighted to hear that.

They drove back home and lounged on the couch. Well, she lounged on the couch while he went up to do 'homework'. After a while she sighed and went to find something to do. She decided to try new hairstyles so she whipped out her phone and started watching YouTube tutorials. The first hairstyle was a simple braided ponytail thing. She tried it and examined it. It was uneven at some places but overall looked ok. She went to San to ask for his answer.

"San," she waltzed into his room. "What d'you think about this braid?"

He looked up at her and smiled, "Nice."

She wasn't happy with his response. It was like he was distancing himself for this homework. He never cared about homework and now all of a sudden it was more important than her? She hid it for now. Knowing her eyes were giving her away, she cast them downwards and mumbled a "Thanks..." before walking out.

She went back and pulled it out, letting her long black and white hair cascade down her back freely. She sighed and looked at her desk. It was decorated with all the stuff from the zoo, photographs of everywhere. And one picture of the two of them. She picked that one up and looked at it, at him. He looked happy there, so why did it seem like this was all a mistake?
