It had been months since Danica had last seen The Detours, changed Who, play. Her schedule was finally beginning to clear up now that she would soon be graduating from Ealing with her photography degree. She hadn't seen Pete in weeks due to her intense focus on her work. After having such strenuous withdrawals from her dear friend, she felt like it was necessary to visit him on his turf at the Oldfield Hotel in Greenford. The band had been playing there since their days as The Detours (which had not been too long ago), and she had quite a lot of fond memories with the group there. Most of the pictures Danica has taken of the group was at the Oldfield Hotel. It was only fitting.
Naturally, she came early to visit the band during their tuneup sessions backstage. The manager recognized her easily after seeing so much of her during their past shows and let her head backstage without questions. She was met by the Pete, John, Roger, and an unfamiliar face. He was fiddling with his drumsticks, clearly anxious.
Not knowing what else to do, Danica waved at him kindly. His eyes seemed to light up at her kindred response to his presence. She made her way over to Pete.
He looked up from tuning his guitar. "Long time no see," His stagnant reaction to her present almost seemed spiteful, but Danni knew he was happy to see her internally.
"I'm sorry about that Petey. I've been really caught up with my schooling, and ever since you dropped out, I don't ever see you 'round campus either," She trailed off.
"That didn't mean you should stop visiting."
"That didn't mean you couldn't visit my flat either."
John Entwistle, who was sitting next to Pete, tuning his own instrument, got up and moved to join Roger down the corridor for a smoke. Danni quickly took his spot.
Pete finished tuning his guitar in silence, and Danica waited for him to move on.
"So, When did Dougie quit?"
"April."
"So, that one over there is his replacement?" She asked about the younger boy still fidgeting about on the other side of the room.
"Yeh."
"That's too bad. Dougie was a good chap."
"Of course you would like him."
Danica scoffed. "What's That supposed to mean? I'm sure you're the one who bullied him out of the band anyway."
