You play with me like putty,
You try to shape me like clay.
But I won't let you,
Have you own way.
Don't try to mold me,
Into the perfect image you seek.
For that won't happen,
In any week.
No matter how sly,
You try to be in your conniving ways,
I'll see right through your trickery,
Even though you try to hide it, anyway.
Your fruitless attempts,
In painting a picturesque scene,
With only one shade of color,
Makes me want to scream.
Why do you try to craft, to manipulate,
So that everything bends to your will?
Don't you understand that,
Nothing will ever remain still,
And be bounded to your desires.
You are just wasting your time,
Throwing your pitiful attempts into the fire.
I know what you are doing,
So, don't try to deny what I am viewing.
I am not naive enough,
To not understand that what you sell,
Always has a steep price.
You try to hammer out a 'fair price,'
Trying to convince me,
That I really need what you provide.
I beg to differ,
Because I know your other side.
Don't try to hide it,
For I know you too well.
The darkness in which,
Your heart dwells.
So, stop your attempts,
To glue me to your side,
You know I'll never fall for such a ruse,
And forget my pride.
