Me and Emily were heading to Maths class arm-in-arm, like we have been friends forever, and it was nice to think I had something normal in my life. We came upon a classroom door the that read *Mr. Skylar. we walked in and a few girls waved at Emily, then they saw me and sized me up. A few guy's were checking us out too- but I was used to that from some of my other missions I would go on, so I didn't give anyone second glances.
We walked over to the girls that waved Emily down and they each gave her a hug. Then everyone was looking at me, waiting for Emily to introduce me.
"Everyone, this is Carson! She is from the states, she's my new roommate and friend. She also has experience in cheer-leading." She told them, they narrowed their eyes at me for a second more and then smiled.
"You going to try out?" one girl asked from the back.
"She needs a permission slip, Brook" another girl whispered to her after elbowing her.
"I have a permission slip" I said reaching into my back pocket, I pulled it out then handed it to the girl that I assumed was the "leader," she snatched it from my hands and looked it over.
"Well You can try out, but I'll determined if your good enough for the team." She smirked and put the slip in her back pocket. I smiled politely at her and zoned out of the conversation that was now taking place.
"All right class! Take your seats!" the teacher said entering the classroom. Everyone started to go back to their own chairs and left their little groups."Come on, you're sitting by me." Emily said grabbing my arm and towing me to 2 empty seats a few rows back from the other girls. People gave me curious looks as I passed, but I just ignored them and sat down.
"All right everyone, turn your pages to 129 because today we are re-learning Cubed roots!" the teacher said and half of the class sighed, the other half just stayed silent while flipping through pages.
I grabbed my book out of my book bag and flipped to the right pages, I tried to pay attention in class but it was kinda boring because I already learned this 6 years ago. So I surveyed the class and studied every face in the room, I recognized a few from the cafe yesterday and some from the halls we walked. I looked around the place discreetly, checking for escape routs for emergencies and places to hide in the room.
There were 4 places to hide-but only 1 was real good, and then at least 3 escape routes. Through the windows and through the door, typical. But then there was a large air vent right above a book shelf, you could easily climb through it, I will have to as Greg for a map of the air vents to study.
"Can anyone tell me what cubed root of - 8 is in this equation" the teacher asked from the front, a few hands went up but he saw me and decided to test the new girl. "how about you miss....?" he trailed off, not knowing my name.
"Carson Johnson, and the cubed root is -2" I answered him and he smiled at my answer.
"Very good, Ms. Johnson. Now can anyone...…" I tuned out of him again and saw that Emily was giving me an approving smile, so I smiled back at her and continued to study everyone around me.

By then end of class I could tell a lot about the random strangers in my class, you could tell who had school easy and the ones who were struggling and the ones who could care less. the ones who are more artistic and the ones who are jocks, the ones who I should be watching closely and the harmless one's. even if some of the ones i should be watching are the more artsy ones.
