Work was slowly but surely killing me. I'd been swamped with directing three commercials in one week and I swore that if I looked at another 'As Seen On TV' product, I was going to riot.
And I meant riot in all aggressive meanings of the word.

This pent up frustration/stress made it so when I answered my buzzing phone the caller was met with a less than impressed "Yes?!" from me, classy as always.

"Jeez, someone's happy today"

Julian. Should of guessed, since our little date last week we had at least one phone call a day. These conversations were almost always far too long and filled with mundane topics we'd somehow make into hilarious anecdotes.

"I'm having a bad day. Fuck that, a bad week, everything sucks" I sighed, melodramatic as usual.

"Okay Morrissey, chill for a sec, what's up?" Even hearing his voice for the minute we'd been on the line was lifting my mood, to say i'd been relying on Julians phone calls as my main source of happiness was a pretty likely statement.

"Work stuff, Boring stuff. Hey Jules have you ever had to make a potato look 'enticing'?" I asked, referring to the commercial I had filmed prior for some weird french fry maker.

"I'm not even gonna ask" He chuckled, making me bite back a little grin, a strange fizzy feeling lay in my stomach "Anyways, work aside, I wanted to ask you a question"

"I'm all ears Casablancas" I balanced the phone on my shoulder as I struggled to peel a banana.

"I wanted to know if you'd want to go on a date, a proper date, our first date"

"Hey we've had our first date!" I replied, mouth full of mushy fruit, ladylike as always.

"We've had takeout! Doesn't count! I mean something nice, dinner and a movie maybe" I once again fought the grin threatening to appear on my face before answering

"Hmm sounds romantic, only if I get to choose the movie"

"I'm not watching Kate Hudson try to kill herself again Kat!" He laughed, causing me to echo

"Fine! I'll make sure it's super boring so you'll have to no choice but to make out with me"

"Deal and Deal, ill pick you up at 7"

"Wait! Before you go, what are your opinions on musicals with little to no plot-lines and cheesy musical breaks?"

"Uh, I guess I don't like them, why?"

"No reason!"

Julian let out a laugh at the end of the phone before continuing

"You're so weird, pick you up at 7"

"How dare you call me weird!" I gasped, pretending to be offended

"Goodbye Kat" I could tell he was smirking

"Mean" I pouted "Goodbye Jules" And with that I hung up. A newfound happiness overcoming the negativity I felt just minutes before.
