"You both shakedown the house for any evidence, while I'm gonna find him."
What's going on?
My anxiety took place and I felt my body trembling badly. The small sweat of trickles started to form on my forehead.
I heard the sound of footsteps coming my way. The lock on the door began to turn and I clutched my knees tightly, burying my head between them.
As the door opened, l felt my body begin to tremble even more.
I heard a loud gasp released from somebody's lips.
"Please stay outside. Let me talk to him alone." I heard the familiar female voice whisper to the other person.
I got paralyzed when the footsteps approached me and I felt the person sat beside me.
"Connor." She called out.
"You don't have to be scared of me. I'm officer Andrea and I'm here to inform you something very important."
I already got a bad feeling about this but I was so scared to raise my head.
"I have got reported about Kyle and Riley Rogers for child abuse."
The world stopped. I froze, too dumb-founded to move or touch anything.
Finally, someone has noticed me!? Surely someone has reported about those criminals?
I felt my eyes wide open in utter shock, and I snapped my head up in her direction, unable to believe the words that I heard.
It seems like a bombing raid to me.
"I'm gonna ask you a few questions. You need to answer all of them honestly. Don't be hesitant or scared of answering any of them."
I saw the other two male police officers entering the room, dressed in all blue uniforms with an attached badge.
A man walked towards me who didn't seem to be a police officer. I struggled to recognize him but when he ran both hands through his hair in a worried manner, I could tell his expression showed a mixture of emotions, filled with distress, anger, and vexed worry.
"Don't stay silent. Have they touched you in a way that doesn't feel good?"
I swallowed hard, biting back my tears. I know what she wanted to hear from me.
"No." I shut my eyes in anguish.
"Don't be afraid to tell."
"No, t-that's never happened with me," I said truthfully.
She asked me a few more questions and I answered all of them, truthfully.
On looking over at me, the man grew confused at first but as he examined my tearful and frightened face, his eyes filled with tension and he seemed staggered.
You have broken the rule.
I have talked to a person without his permission. Even when I go to his friend's house, I'm not allowed to speak to anyone unless his order.
The man tried to touch my back but I shook my head, backing away from him. "Please, don't come near me."
I don't want anyone to touch my back because the deep scar that I have since the past three years should be only known by him.
I won't leave you alive if anyone saw that.
"Connor.."
"N-No, y-you'll hurt me." A small whimper escaped my lips and I was extremely close to breaking down.
