Mysterious Kunoichi (Part 1 of 2 in the MK Series)

"As long as Kakashi isn't involved, I don't care."

"I can't make any guarantees, but okay."

"That'll have to work."

"Here." She pulled a paper from her desk and signed it. "You're released. Rowan will need a physical from Hana before Ibiki will allow him on missions though."

"Thank you." I nodded and left.

Before the doors closed, I could hear Shizune, "She's changed."

"And not for the better." Tsunade spoke.

I approached the Inuzuka compound and spotted the young male I had met before. His canine companion was with him. Rowan gave a small growl in a sign of dominance as we approached.

"Heel!" I commanded. I rarely command Rowan, so when I did, he listened. "Stay."

Akamaru barked excitedly at seeing me. He bounced as he ran to me. He shied away at the sight of Rowan, but I walked forward to greet him.

"Oi! Akamaru!" Kiba called as he ran forward. "Oh, Y/n. What brings you by?"

"I need to see Hana if she isn't busy. Rowan," I gestured behind me, "needs a physical before we can be released to the ANBU."

"She's inside working. I can walk you there." He offered with a toothy grin.

If only you were older....

"Thank you, Kiba." I waved Rowan forward, "This is Rowan. Rowan, this is Kiba and Akamaru."

Kiba held his hand forward, crouching to eye level with Rowan. Rowan approached slowly, but allowed the contact. Akamaru crouched low and crawled forward.

"Stand tall pup." Rowan spoke to Akamaru.

Akamaru stood and barked happily. Kiba ruffled his fur as he stood. "This way."

We followed Kiba through the compound. I hadn't been inside before, so I was in awe of the balance of the pack. People and canines. I heard a growl and snapped my head to the source. A large wolf hybrid slunk her way from the shadow of a tree.

"Heel!" A woman commanded.

Rowan simply stood before me in defense, but didn't show any aggression. I stroked his fur, trying to calm his hackles.

"Kiba, who is this?"

"Hana, this is Y/n. Tsunade sent her and Rowan here for a physical. She needs a release for the ANBU."

"My apologies. She can be a little aggressive to males she doesn't know. Akira, sit."

"It's alright. I'm used to it, he's the Alpha and gets a little protective."

"Lady Y/n, must I do this?" Rowan asked.

"Do you want to go on missions with me?"

"Yes."

"Then yes. Maybe next time you'll let your brother stay instead of butting into my business."

Hana and Kiba exchanged a look but said nothing.

"It's just a physical. Five minutes at most. This way, please."

"Thank you." We all followed Hana and her canine.

Akira and Akamaru both sat outside the building we entered. Kiba still followed, quietly watching Rowan and I. Hana lead us to a scale where she took Rowan's weight. We then followed her into a room where she had Rowan jump onto a table, putting him right at her height. She let him sniff her face, neck and hands. She began her exam, running her hands over his body. She manipulated his legs, checking his joints. She looked at his eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
