Their words cut me deeper than a knife. When they told me to die, I felt all my hope of living, slowly leaving me.
I've started believing everything they say now.
Maybe they are right. Maybe no one wants me in this cold world.
"Boys!" I heard Jaxon shout, causing my anxiety to grow.
Is he going to talk to them?
I could hear the sound of doors opening and closing, followed by the sound of running footsteps.
"Wassup, Dad?" I heard them say.
"Sit down you three." I heard Jaxon say sternly.
"Why? I was doing some important work." Maverick protested.
"Sit." My anxiety was growing larger, as he was speaking to them.
I slammed my pencil onto the table and walked to my door, pressing my ear against the door.
Now I could hear the voices clearly.
"What's going on?" I heard Jaxon ask calmly.
"What?" Thibbault and Elliot asked in confusion.
"You know what I'm talking about." Jaxon growled in a low voice.
"I really don't know what you're talking about, Dad." Elliot mumbled.
"So now I have to describe the way that you're treating your brother." Even from behind my door I could feel the room fill with tension as he said those words.
"Oh that little shit? Who cares about him?" Maverick sneered through gritted teeth.
"You! Upstairs!" Jaxon ordered. "I'll talk to you alone."
"I was stating the truth." Maverick yelled.
"Maverick. Now." Jaxon growled.
"Fine, I didn't want to talk about that shit anyways!" He said, before he ran upstairs.
My breathing increased as I heard his bedroom door slam shut. He is literally going to kill me.
"Shame on you, Thibbault, that kid always looked up to you. He saw you as his hero but you.." Jaxon sighed. "That's how you guys are treating him." He shouted at them.
Why is Elliot being quiet?
"Listen to me very carefully, I'm going to go abroad in a few days and you are going to look after him. I don't want any misbehaving..." He trailed off. "Also, I don't ever want to hear or see you bullying him." Jaxon stated, but I heard no response, "Do I make myself clear, Thibbault?"
"Well, I have never bullied him." Elliot whispered.
"Thibbault!"
"Fine." He replied, irritation could be heard in his voice.
His words made me realise that he's just going to bully me even more now.
"I'll talk to Maverick later." I heard Jaxon say.
I returned to my bed and sat down.
"I have to go for some work right now and Elliot, you're coming with me." Jaxon demanded.
"Why?"
"Don't ask why."
"Why are you getting angry at me? It's like, I've done something."
I have never heard Jaxon sounded so angry.
"I don't want both of you to come out of your rooms. You both are grounded for a month." Jaxon said loudly, referring to Maverick.
I heard a door opened and footsteps stomp downstairs.
"You can't do this, Dad. You can't ground us, because of him. My best friend is throwing a party tomorrow and I need to go." Maverick yelled.
"Cancel the party. No one is going to any parties this week." I heard Jaxon say.
"Dad! Are you seriously grounding us because of him!?" Maverick yelled.
"Yes, and this time with no phones."
"What!?" Both Thibbault and Maverick yelled in unison. "You can't do this!"
"I can and I am!"
"I'm not giving you my phone," Maverick shouted angrily.
"Then I'm going to take it. I want both of you upstairs, now! I don't want any of you out of your rooms until I come back." With that I heard, what sounded like the front door, being slammed shut.
My palms began to get sweaty, as I heard them all stomping up the stairs.
Oh god, I'm dead!
Someone kicked my door, causing it to slam open and my eyes to widen.
"This shit is dead." Maverick said, with pure hatred. I could see he was fuming with anger.
"You'll regret this Connor!" I gulped loudly and whimpered as those words left Thibbault's lips.
