"I understand you're angry." She opened her eyes and they softened, much like the Tsunade I knew when I was younger. "You have every right to be. I didn't know the extent of everything until I became Hokage."
"What do you mean?" I interrupted her.
"I knew that Hiruzen kept you close. And sheltered. But," she looked away for a moment before looking at me with apologetic eyes, "I had no idea you were considered a mission."
"But the mission to Suna was your doing." I threw at her.
"No. That was the Elders. Danzō, to be exact. He recommended it, I was out voted."
"Why would he do that?"
"I'm not sure. I don't trust him. And neither should you."
"I never have."
"If you'll sit down, I'll examine you. Then you can go ho-well, you can leave."
I gave her a childish pout but sat down. Her warm, chakra covered hands skimmed my body. I winced as she reached my bandages thigh. She stepped back and eyed me carefully.
"Why was I treated this way?" I whispered, looking to the floor.
"I can't say." She admitted.
I glanced up to see the sadness on her face. "You don't know? Or you can't say?"
"Both."
"I see." I broke eye contact again, "Can I go now?"
"Yes. You're off duty for two weeks. Come see me tomorrow and I'll check you over again. We have a team out searching for Tanaka's whereabouts."
"Thank you." I stood and limped my way to the bathroom.
"Kakashi brought you clothes. They should be in there." Tsunade spoke as I closed the door.
Indeed, there was a pile of clothes for me sitting on the counter. Black, loose pants and one of his shirts actually. I smiled softly at the gesture. Then I saw the bra and panties he picked out and rolled my eyes. Lace. Men. My tanto was carefully laid atop it all.

I stood in my apartment trying not to cry. My living room and kitchen were destroyed. My bathroom, bedroom and front door were all blown off their hinges. My bookshelf was torn to pieces, along with the arm chair and part of the couch. My eyes landed on fragments of paper and I couldn't hold back the tears.
My sketch pads.
I sank to my knees and let myself cry. I was attacked. In my home. Twice. I was a mission for those I trusted and loved for the last 19 years. Could I trust no one? This is why I hardened my heart, and it still managed to get broken. I heard someone near my doorway and wiped my tears away quickly.
"Y/n, are you okay?" Genma.
I turned to face the special jonin. Concern etched his face and his senbon was clenched between his teeth. He stepped closer to me and I stumbled towards him. The second I was in his arms I breathed in his scent, taking comfort in his arms. Then, I realized something. Genma was on Minato's guard when I was younger.
I pulled away slowly and looked up at him. We hadn't seen each other since I was six or seven really. I'd see him from time to time when I was in Hiruzen's office, but that was about it. But I had to know. I had to ask.
"Can we talk?" I sniffed.
"Is everything okay? Besides the obvious?" His eyes fleeted over my apartment before he looked back down at me.
