(Sorry for the long wait ^^;)Kevin Alonso, that womanizer. He always was a flirt, and it didn't seem like he'd care whether or not the person he tried to flirt with was single. After much rejection, it also didn't occur to the cowboy that maybe perhaps taking a break from gushing over the girls was optional. But even with his playful attitude, Kevin never really went over boundaries, so you could say he still had some sort of manners.
You sat tirelessly on the sofa in the main living room, the last match with Hastur was not joyful at all. Unlike other matches where he would put tentacles here and there, it seemed as if the water god had become aggresive lately. Every corner had groups of the slimy limbs, pointing at your direction in an attempt to grip something. It didn't end however, as Hastur never left you alone until you had went down. Although with a win, the consequences of having pain all across your abdomen from the tentacles, and hands and feet from vaulting over windows and pallets took a toll. He made you feel like some dog running around, afraid of being caught and thrown into a pound.
Catching your breath, you hadn't realized the sofa had shifted along with your comfy position. You didn't dare looking up, as your head was no lighter than a bowling ball. Every movement from any limb was unbearable, the aches almost increasing with every worry that overcame. Like a statue you refused to move, knowing all well that soon or later Emily would come and aid you anyway. Energy was running out fast, and it seemed like you had fallen asleep after that...
You heard whispers, perhaps a bit too loud for you to resume napping. But unlike before, your body was not in much pain as you thought it would.
"It seems like the sleeping beauty is awake!"
You jolt, a quick glance at the voice made you squirm away at the end of the sofa. You fell asleep on Kevin's shoulder. Your conscious told you there was no time to be wrapped up on that sudden action, but even so, why didn't you realize it sooner? It was obvious if the cushion your head was laying on changed, but when exactly did it change?
A cluster of feathers suddenly landed on top of your shoulder, the little owl rested itself near your warmth. It felt really comforting, her silence craving a 'hello' or overall any attention given by you. She didn't leave, as if she was cautious about the cowboy just a few meters away. But of course, who wouldn't want to protect the lover of her owner?
"Kevin, when exactly did you come?" You asked, a bit squeamish to think that you hadn't felt the difference between a warm body and a soft sofa. He was nice and all, even a good supporter during matches, but dear God is he also oblivious to any sign of rejection. If your body language didn't scream of 'get away!' then you would have to say it verbally just so Kevin could actually comprehend. But even a rabbit would know when to back away from its predator. This guy was of no luck whatsoever.
"Oh come on! You should give your little friend some chance, I could be the most gentlemanly date you could ever have! I could always protect you and lasso your maiden heart to safety!" Kevin boasted, a little too over the confident chart. He scooted closer, the space between the both of you began to slim and time slowly melts into but a frozen picture. With Brooke's eyes glowing vibrant blue and a hand reaching out to yours, you didn't realize you were in the arms of a very familiar Seer. A Seer of which was absolutely fuming with irritation.
He spoke loud and clear, almost as if he had said a command: "Kevin, if you may, please stop bothering us. We were just about to enter a match soon, and I highly recommend you to back away," Eli almost hissed, as if a string of venom would suddenly spill from his mouth. He stood behind you, but still in a defensive position, did he remain as still and tense as ever. He caught you off guard, and never had you noticed his fingers lacing down to your waist. He never acted like this, and it seemed to be like Eli Clark had finally snapped. As the strings of impatience grew thinner and thinner, he could only tie it back on with a weak smile to your way.
He was jealous.
Never in a million years would you have to face the look of your lover's jealousy. His eyes of vibrant blue glowed the same as his feathered companion, irises melting as his gaze landed upon yours. His lips curved down, an empty silence caught your tongues. He had seen the situation with the help of Brooke, and clearly, he was not pleased. You found it almost unbearable to feel his lingering eyes examining your face, and usually, it would never feel like that. This was a rare occasion, and hopefully you didn't need to feel it anytime soon.
"Are you alright?" Eli proceeded to engulf you in a hug, his arms latching onto your sides as if he could loose you to another. "I felt Brooke distressed so I used her sight to see what the commotion was about. Turns out, it was just Kevin doing Kevin things." You pat his back in return, sending a reassuring sensation down his spine. It wasn't unusual for the seer to be worried over small things, especially when it comes to you, but today it seemed like that little problem turned out to be jealousy.
You left the hug, much to Eli's dismay, and held his hand instead. You found it adorable that of all people, he could never tolerate Kevin. Even he was able to tolerate the cranky merc, and in your opinion, Kevin would be easier to cooperate between the two. "Are you perhaps...jealous?" You asked, a cheeky smile resting on your lips. If it wasn't obvious enough, the man's face became flushed in pink, cheeks glowing bright like a tomato. He could only look away, afraid of what anyone questions you would ask. "No worries, Eli. Kevin was just doing Kevin things, we can't really do anything about that unfortunately."
"Sure, I know it's Kevin and all, but shouldn't he already know that you're not available?" He pouted, still flustered and grimacing at the image of the cowboy scooting closer to his lover.
Chuckling, "Oh Eli, even when the girl is taken, Kevin isn't going to stop flirting. I promise....there's no one else besides you that I long to be with, Mr. Clark," you whispered, sending a reassuring pat on his back. He trusted you, and those words meant everything to him. You gave him a reason to keep going, and even within the manor of life and death, did he find a future waiting inside with you...
A/N: I should probably stop writing stories at 1 am ^^; I realized that I have less ideas when tired and I don't think I put as much details as I would like...
