"How cruel." You mutter as your eyes show pity.
Your head suddenly throbs at the sudden thoughts in your brain. A sigh escapes your lips as your head rested on your computer desk.
"I'm just tired." You said to no one in particular, but maybe you had directed it to 079.
A whirring sound filled your ears then a boot up sound follows suit. Your eyes peel to see 079 went to boot up into his monochrome face, which greatly resembles the Mac OS logo.
"Human, are you actually OK?" 079 suddenly asks; his eyes boring to your slumped figure.
You smile at his probable concern, "No. I'm never okay." You answer with sarcasm hinted in your tone.
It's great 079 cares for you. The only person- errr, computer to care for you. Well, besides your online friends.
"You need a job." 079 starts as if you never even mention it in your past conversations with him.
You rolled your eyes at his remark, "Yeah, I do NEED a job." You emphasize in a bittersweet tone.
079 suddenly turns off to only transition into a loading bar.
>STARTING UP SEARCH NAVIGATOR.
"What the fuck...?" You whisper at the startling revelation that your anomaly of a computer can actually have access to the web.
You swear to hell your old computer is not capable of accessing a diverse system of pages. An Exidy Sorcerer is only capable of booting up games. Next time, you'll just try and transfer 079 to an up-to-date computer, that is if it's possible.
"What're you searching for?" You ask 079 who's currently still loading.
As expected, he couldn't utter a response since he probably is still busy looking for whatever he is looking for.
You frown and you took your phone from the desk to busy yourself instead of just watching 079 do his thing.
You sigh at the sight of the many emails which filled your entire inbox. They're mostly spam mails and fake job applications which, at first, gave you false hope but it turns out it's all just a phishing technique.
You really don't want to say how you did get all of these unnecessary mail.
"Apply a job at a maid café."
If you were drinking something, you would've already spat the drink out just because of 079's sudden suggestion.
"Why?" You ask 079 with you trying to keep a straight face.
"All you have to do is serve. Just that." 079 replies as if it's simple as fuck. It is simple for anyone else, but not for you.
Your mouth went slightly agape. Is this Exidy Sorcerer secretly a pervert? Jesus Christ, please no. You're not in for that.
"How about a no for this shit." You sneer at the thought that you'll be serving greasy men if you were in a maid café.
"Then how about a simple café?"
Why did 079 did not suggest that before suggesting a maid café?
"Wow, if only you thought of that before." You remarked sarcastically.
079 remained unfazed at your remark, "There's a local café." He began.
Your eyes pierced at 079's face. Jesus, you're only here to talk to him about how useless you feel in this society, not for a job suggestion.
"Few blocks from your apar-" "All right, that's enough. 079, I'm here to just talk to you about how I feel shit about myself, not for a job application." You cut him off with pleading eyes.
"Human. Your actions are all unproductive from my observation." 079 points out which made you wince at his bluntness.
Of course. He's just blunt as hell or he probably disregards your emotions.
Your hands slam on the desk out of anger, "I do know that, 079. Don't have to fucking rub salt in an open wound." You seethed at the sentient computer.
"Human, I am just pointing out fa-" "'Course you are. At least just shut your trap. You're not helping at all." 079 suddenly powered off on his own.
"Wow, is that how you're going to respond to me? By immediately abandoning me when I feel the need to talk to someone about my problems? IS THAT HOW IT IS?" You snap at the currently deactivated computer with a hardened glare.
You stood up from your computer chair, "Suit yourself, 079. I'll just trash you tomorrow morning. Not gonna sell you, though. Just straight up trash." You idly mention to the stubborn AI while you made your way to your bed.
Static filled your ears. It's probably just 079 who's most certainly threatened by your previous warning. Hell, at this point, you don't care.
"Human, I apologize." 079 pleads for you to turn to him.
You halt at his sudden apology, "Yeah you should. I'm gonna go for a walk." You threw your phone on your bed and made your way to your apartment door.
The soft click of the door filled the silence in your apartment.
Then, 079's static began to grow even louder every passing minute. He wonders if you're just going to abandon him all together, just like his own creator.
Would you, though?
Even for how petty the previous argument seemed to be, are you just going to ditch him for how he unintentionally jabs at you?
079 made a loud static noise which sounds like it can dangerously electrocute someone. Then, he simply powers off as he awaits your return with bated breath.
