Red Is A Pretty Colour

Hiko's pov

I had found a little cave like area inside a tree that we had turned into our base. I set up a bunch of traps and sakura got to work taking care of them. I took first watch while Sakura slept, I had officially been awake for over 48 hours which was quite unusual since I normally caught up on sleep during the day.

I watched everything around us like a hawk, I was trying to sense any chakra that was around me. I noticed a squirrel getting too close to one of my traps an threw a kunai to scare it away.

"Sakura! Sakura get up!" I said as I began shaking the girl. "Three enemies are approaching Sakura."

"No point in keeping watch anymore, we've already found you." A sound ninja said as three of them appeared at the opposite end of the clearing. "Now wake Sasuke up, we want to fight him."

"Sakura, you need to move, now!" I yelled at her as I shook her some more.

"Huh? What is it?" Sakura asked groggily.

"Sound ninja are here." I said.

"What do you want?! I know Orochimaru is calling the shots from the shadows! What's that strange bruise on the back of sasuke's neck, you're behind this too, aren't you?" Sakura exclaimed.

"I can't stay quiet after hearing you talk to us like that, first I'm gonna kill these girls and then I'm gonna kill Sasuke." One of the sound ninja said.

"Wait Zaku, its so obvious, this is the colour of dirt that's recently been dug up and this kind of grass doesn't grow in a place like this. If you're going to lay a trap there's no point unless you make sure its actually hidden." A sound ninja said.

"Ha! You're just a joke, you threw that kunai knife so that squirrel wouldn't set off that trap." A sound ninja, Zaku said.

"Now we kill them." The sound ninja said.

The three of them Jumped over my fake trap and I cut a string sending a log flying towards them. Sakura and I smirked and high fived each other but then The log smashed and the three sound ninja landed in front of us.

"Clearly you have no talent as a ninja, you need to put in a little more effort, don't you think?" The sound ninja said.

"Leaf hurricane!" A voice yelled before all three sound ninja were kicked away from us.

"Wha? What's he doing?" Sakura asked as bowl cut kid took a defensive position in front of us.

"Looks like you also need to make more of an effort." He said.

"Who are you?" The sound ninja asked.

"I am the handsome devil of the leaf village and my name is Rock Lee." He replied.

"What are you doing here Lee?" Sakura asked.

"I will always appear anytime and anywhere that you are in trouble Sakura."  Lee said.

"You do know that we're your enemies, right?" I said.

"I will protect Sakura until I die and that includes the people you hold dear to you." Lee said.
