All Gina knew was that in a short amount of time Nini had become someone who she genuinely cared for. She had become someone who knew her deepest secrets and as much as she tried to say they were just friends at one point, some part of Gina always knew that they would end up like this. Holding hands in her car on their way to a date.
Gina smiled at her thoughts and quickly leaned over and pressed a quick kiss on Nini's cheek before fully focusing on the road in front of her."What was that for ?"
"Can't a girl just appreciate her girlfriend ?"
"Nice deflection, I'll let it slide for now"
Nini smirked at Gina and she laughed quietly. The two of them fell into a comfortable silence as the car ride became shorter and shorter as they neared the carnival.
When they two got there, Nini sprinted out of the car and left Gina in the dust. Gina thanked god that she played soccer and could easily catch up to the eager girl. Nini was like a little ball of sunshine. Always smiling and, in Gina's eyes, utterly amazing.
In an effort to control the girls eagerness and avoid Nini going on a sugar rush, Gina wrapped her arms around Nini and held her tightly. The two were standing by the cotton candy and candied apples stand and right next to the ferris wheel. Gina held Nini from behind and of course Nini melted into the embrace. It was something so intimate between the two of them and both of them had gotten into the habit of being in each other's arms like this.
"Can I please get cotton candy?"
Nini looked up at Gina. She gave her the best possible puppy dog eyes that she could and Gina rolled her eyes. Even if she knew Nini would become ten times worse with sugar in her system she couldn't say no to her. Who could?
Gina rolled her eyes and nodded at Nini. Who wiggled out of the embrace, pecked Gina's lips, and then went off to ask the man to combine the blue and pink sugar so she could have purple cotton candy.
Meanwhile Gina walked over to the ticket booth and made sure to get a lot of tickets for the both of them. If she was gonna have a hyper Nini, she was gonna make sure that she had enough to occupy her.
"You know you didn't have to pay it all yourself"
Gina shrugged at her girlfriends voice before thanking the ticket lady. She put her change back in her wallet and slipped it back in her pocket.
"Let me treat you okay ?"
"Hmm how about no. Nice try though!"
Gina rolled her eyes.
"Keep talking like that to me and you'll be spending this date alone"
"Yeah you wouldn't do that"
Gina began to walk away from Nini and said girl tried to run after her. This caused the inner child in Gina to come out and she quickly ran away from her girlfriend. Nini couldn't keep up with Gina. Who at this point kept running faster each time she ran away from Nini. Always with a smug smirk that Nini just wanted to wipe off.
Nini saw that she could cut corners and cross Gina's path so she ran towards the girl again and as soon as Gina turned around to run again, she ran the other way. When the two crossed paths Gina couldn't stop in time and she bumped into Nini, hard.
The shorter girl went flying onto the ground and her cotton candy right into a puddle. Gina immediately covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing. Her girlfriend sat on the ground, her cotton candy melted, her white shirt dirty and with a pout on her lips. As soon as their eyes met Gina couldn't hold it in anymore. She burst out laughing and Nini pouted even more.
