"Yes, father." I stuck my tongue out and he shook his head, bidding me goodbye.

Rowan and I walked around, not really worried about destination or time. My feet apparently lead me to where my heart wanted, since my head was a giant mess. Here I stood in front of the Sarutobi home, unsure of what I was doing, and what I was going to do. I looked down and Rowan, and I could see the questions swirling in his mind as well. I sighed and turned to leave, but found my jonin friend behind me, worry and relief written on his face.

Those large arms engulfed me and I tensed before relaxing, "Kami, it's good to see you." He mumbled into the crook of my neck.

"Asuma." I whispered.

"You want to come in?" He held my shoulders and looked at me, studying my face.

"I'm honestly not sure why I'm here. I was out walking and wound up here."

"Come on, I'll cook us some dinner."

Dinner? I glanced to the sky, I had spent all day walking around aimlessly, but still found myself needing to see the people I had. "Okay. Rowan, go wait for Kakashi to come home." I could see him hesitate, but he finally took off towards the apartment.

I followed Asuma inside and we made our way into the kitchen, where I settled at the island. Asuma took off his vest and cast it onto the couch before coming back into the kitchen. I watched him, chin in my hand, as he moved through the room, pulling the things out he needed. He sat a bottle of sake out and I eyed the bottle, I hadn't drank since the incident, and I wasn't sure that I should. I continued to watch, Asuma's muscles rippling under his shirt, it was the first time I found myself wanting to touch someone. I shook my head, realizing where my thoughts were headed and focused on the aroma.

"You look like you're doing good." Asuma's voice drew me back to reality.

"I'm okay." I corrected.

"You sent Rowan to wait for Kakashi." I knew where his comment was headed, so I asked an important question.

"Did Kurenai tell you anything?"

"No. She only said that you'd find me when you were ready." His back still faced me, and I could see his shoulders slump slightly.

Ready? Was I ready? "It's not that I don't trust you, I promise you that, Asuma, it's just hard to talk about. I was with members of the Akatsuki for five days."

He dropped the spoon he was using to plate and some rice fell to the floor with it. "Shit." I wasn't sure if he was cussing at himself, or the words that I had said. He collected himself, and the fallen food and spoon, before rinsing it and continuing to plate our dinner. "Here." He added as he placed the food before me.

"Thank you, Suma."

Asuma's eyes were focused on me while I poked and nibbled on the food, it was good, but my appetite was still sparse these days. Asuma seemed to feel the same, simply taking a bite every few minutes. I sighed and pushed the plate away, deciding I might as well try. Kurenai knew, and Kakashi knew, Asuma deserved to know too.

"I was raped." I hadn't really meant to just blurt it out, but I did.

"Kami." The fork bent from the grip Asuma had suddenly used. He dropped it and picked up the sake, drinking straight from the bottle.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to just say it. There's so much more to the story-"

"Don't apologize, please. I just wasn't really expecting that."

I rubbed my face with both hands before I sat up straight and looked to the handsome man before me. "The mission with Kakashi where I was injured," Asuma nodded, "We had sex." He nodded again. "The injuries from my kidnapping, they lead to me having a miscarriage, I didn't even know I was pregnant. It was Kakashi's baby."
