The storm, my storm, raged wildly around me. My hair whipped my face and stung my already burning eyes. So much pain filled my chest, my stomach hollowed out and bowels watery. Rowan howled in the night and I growled at him. He at least knew my mother's name and title, yet he said and did nothing. Rowan cowered, I've never seen the wolf cower in all my life.
"This is why I warned you." Danzo's voice cut through the raging wind.
I snapped my head up and rose to my feet, shoving both scrolls into my hip pouch. A flick of my wrist and gust of wind was sent towards the village elder.
"Now, now," he moved closer, "I'm the only one willing to answer your questions. Is that anyway to treat me?"
"Bullshit."
Danzo laughed and it sounded like a crow cawing, "Jirayia never mentioned this to you, did he?" His smirk grew wider. "Tsunade?" Even wider. Please don't, don't say his name. "Kakashi?"
A bolt of lightning later, I was on top of the apartment building. I leveled my breathing, trying to level the storm. I needed my wits about me before I had this conversation. I focused and found that Kakashi wasn't in the apartment, actually, he wasn't in the village it seemed. So, off to Tsunade instead.
I burst through the doors in a whirl of wind and lightning. Tsunade glared at me, she must've seen the look in my eyes because she seemed to shrink in on her self, shoulders caving inward. I slammed the scrolls onto the desk and the occupants of the office disappeared.
"Hime-"
"Don't even." I growled. "You're going to allow me to leave. I'll come back when ever I damn well please."
"I can't do that." She tried to remain still, but I saw her knees shake slightly.
"You can, and you will. You all lied, and you all kept me in the dark. I want nothing to do with any of you. If you won't, then I'm going to go rogue." It wasn't a threat, it was a promise.
"You'll check in once a month." I growled again. "That's the only chance you get, Y/n. You want out, you want to run away, then go, do it. But you're going to either come home once a month and see me, or you can find Jirayia and check in with him."
"Lying bastard. You both are." I stalked to the windowsill and yanked my thunder god kunai out. "I'll see you in May."
"That's it?"
I gripped the scrolls and kunai, knuckles white. "That's it."
Lightning flashed and I was in my apartment. I snatched my largest pack and began shoving everything I could into it. I sealed away extra clothes and sketch pads. I didn't have much in my apartment, so when I was finished, I stormed into Kakashi's. My heart cracked before completely crumbling as I took in the apartment. No- I was leaving.
I began packing my things from his drawers and closet, not caring about the mess I left in my wake. I even tossed sketches around like they meant nothing. They didn't. Not anymore. As I packed my weapons, I clenched my teeth as I ran the kunai on my forearm, focusing on the pain as the metallic stench filled my nostrils. I wrapped it quickly and continued my packing.
I shrugged my pack onto my shoulders and stood in the living room. I was about to head for the door when it swung open. Kakashi was drenched and breathless as he stalked into the apartment. His eyes landed on me and the scrolls that were in my hand. Without a word, I threw something at him, they hit his chest and fell to the ground, metal clinking.
The charms from my tantos, only the Hatake ones, and my charm bracelet lay in the floor. Kakashi still looked at me, never glancing towards the floor. He stepped closer and I held my ground. He moved even closer, the only warning he was given was the lightning dancing on my skin. When he was close enough to touch me, I growled, my canines lengthening even.
"I'm sorry." He sobbed as he sank to his knees before me.
"You had a year!" I yelled and he looked up at me. "I'll ignore the time I was gone, I'll let that go. But I've been home a year, over a year, Kakashi. You could've told me." He shook his head no. "Why not?!" I demanded.
"Tsunade forbid it."
I laughed, though it sounded more like a cackle. "It doesn't matter, I'm leaving."
"Why?"
"Because I don't want to be here anymore."
Kakashi stood and gripped my shoulders. "It may sound selfish, but please, don't go. I just found you again, and you're mine, I can't lose you again."
I flung both of his arms off me, "I'm not yours, Kakashi Hatake, I am no ones. I am Y/n Kaminari, of the Kaminari clan, and belong to no one. My father-" I bit back the tears, "my brother- my brother." I drew in a breath. "I deserved to know." I finally breathed. "Goodbye, Kakashi."
I walked past him and to the door. "Marry me." His low voice drifted to my ears, making me pause. "Stay, and marry me."
I glanced over my shoulder, seeing him slumped and depressed made my heart squeeze, but I couldn't give in. Not now. "No." It wasn't as stern as I had hoped, but the way his shoulders shook, he knew I was serious.
I left him there as he fell to his knees again, sobbing into the night. No one stopped me as I left the village, rain pouring and storm raging. The storm outside certainly did match the one that raged inside my heart.
