You're Such a Dream to Me{Benny x reader}

~First POV~
It was 8 am and I was on my way to the sandlot with Benny and Smalls, the usual. When we finally made it there we were greeted by everyone, they all looked like they were going to die from heat.
"Hey Benny.. I don't think we can play baseball today, ITS 150 DEGREES OUT HERE!"
"Yeah yeah truly!"
"This pop isn't working Benny, I'm baking like a toasted cheeser! it's so hot here!"
"Fine! Let's take a vote, anyone who wants to be a "can't-hack-it" pantywaist who wears their mama's bra, raise your hand." Everyone raise their hands except for me, summer in Manhattan was hot but I still played either way, it was fun, I couldn't help it!
"Fine! Fine! Fine! Be like that, what are we gonna do?" Benny stared at all of us waiting for an answer, "SCAM POOL HONEYS!" The boys said in union, I just rolled my eyes.

I went inside my house to pick up what I needed which included a towel, sunblock, and extra clothes just in case. I put on my (y/f/c) bathing suit with a Yankee's shirt with shorts.

~Benny POV~
Once I finished putting on my swim stuff I headed straight for y/n's and Small's house. I knocked on her door and my cheeks heated up when she opened that door.
"Ready y/n?"
"Ready!" We both walked to Small's house to pick him up and from there we made our way to the pool along with the others. When we got to the pool I immediately took of my shirt and jumped in, i looked around but couldn't see y/n.
Where is she I thought—
My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a yank at my legs brining me into the water. When I submerged from the water I saw a laughing y/n.
~Your POV~
As I was taking my clothes off I instantly went in the pool because I had a little prank up my sleeve. Once I saw that Benny was in the water I could tell he was looking for me, so why not surprise him?
I swam at the bottom of the pool and grabbed his leg and yanked him down. Once he was underwater I surfaced to get some air but I was laughing too. Benny looked at me and started laughing too, he then started pushing me into the water making huge splashes all around us. We both then noticed that all the boys gathered at the edge of the pool and stared a Wendy Peffercorn who was the life guard.
"She doesn't know what she's doin.."
"No, she knows exactly what she's doin."
I looked over at Benny and rolled my eyes. Then we heard squints say, "lotioning, oiling, lotioning, and oiling! I can't take it anymore!"
He jumped out of the pool and walked to the diving board.
What is he doing!?
Squints then jumped the pool but never resurfaced, that's when Wendy came to the rescue. She jumped off and saved squints, we all got out and looked at him on the ground. "C'mon squints!"
"Yeah c'mon squints!"
"Wake up squints!"
As we were all praying that he would get up we heard a smooch and a yelling Wendy.
"YOU LITTLE PERVERT!!" she grabbed squints and kicked everyone out including me. We got our stuff and headed back home.

"That was pretty fun!" I looked over at Benny. "It actually was, just spending time with you and the guys is enough to make me happy, no matter what we do." I felt my cheeks heat up. "Did you get sun burnt?"
"I wouldn't thinks so, I put enough sun block."
"Oh, cause your face looks pretty red." He chuckled. I knew he saw my blush.

"Hey y/n?"
"Yea?"
He looked over to me and seemed kind of nervous, "would you like to maybe go hang out together at the sandlot tomorrow, just the two of us?" I looked at him and a smile crept to my face. "Sure, what time?"
"I'd say maybe 5 before the sun sets."
"Alright." He smiles at me and gave me a hug. My chin was just high enough to reach the top of his shoulder while his arms wrapped around my waist. It felt like I could stay there forever but we had to pull away. We continued walking until we made it to my house. "Alright bye y/n see ya tomorrow!"
"Bye!"
I went inside the house and ate dinner.
"Something tells me that boy likes you y/n."
"That's crazy talk mom, he's probably too focused on baseball to like someone."
"You could be right, but when someone finds the person that they really love or they are really interested in, they will tend to spend as much time as they can with that person."
"But we're friends, it's obvious that we are trying to spend time with each other."
My mom rolled her eyes playfully and said, " whatever you say sweetie."
You smiled at her and got ready for bed, boy were you excited for tomorrow!
