[I know no one reads these types of thing but I’m just going to try to explain the AU used in this fanfic. I’m not sure what to call this AU, but I try to explain the plot. The human enter Sburb, and meet the trolls and instead of befriending them, they try to make them into slaves. The higher on the hemospectrum, the more freedom you have. Also, the god tiers are their placements. (In the humans’ case.) EX: Dirk is the Prince, And Dave is the Knight. Dave is lower than Dirk. Do you get it now? If you don’t that’s ok, maybe someone else who does get it can explain XD I’m bad at explaining…. ANYWAYS. Let our story begin!]

[Karkat’s P.O.V]

“Move it, low-blood.”

You narrowed your eyes, and continued to walk forward into the kingdom. No matter how badly you wanted to rip out the dumb human’s throat, you knew you shouldn’t. If you did, they would execute you because you are… A low-blood. And you aren’t proud of it. Life would be so much easier if you were a High-blood. They got so much freedom, they were basically grey humans. Your friends were all higher than you actually. If your short- tempered personality hadn’t got in the way, you would’ve been just fine and no one would have found out about your mutation.

The human guard that had been watching your every step stopped at the castle doors. You looked up at the tall and majestic golden walls of the castle. Or, at least you thought they were golden. You couldn’t really tell in the dark. You bit your lip nervously. These people seemed to be rich, and if they knew you were a mutant… No. you didn’t want to think about death right now. It just sickened you. The castle doors opened once the guard typed in the code on the key-pad. “Move.” He ordered. Stepping into the castle gave you chills. The clacking of the guards metal boots echoed throughout the castle, and you felt the eyes of the royals. You tried not to look at them, fearing you did they could snap your horns off.

“Stop.” A voice rang out.

You stopped in your tracks and you heard the guard mumble something to himself. You could feel the gaze of the royal staring into your soul.

“Look up.”

You hesitantly looked up at the royal. He had magenta clothes on that told you he was from the Derse kingdom. Derse’s are the worst. Or so you have been told. The Derse had a pink heart woven onto his chest, and one on his crown. His golden hair was gelled back and he wore pointy sunglasses. ‘Must be some royal thing.’

The Derse studied you for a second before a younger looking version of the male came to stand next to him. He wore the Purple crown, but his outfit was completely different. He had a red cape and a red shirt with a time symbol on it. The sleeves where a darker shade of red and his pants where the same shade. ‘He must really like red.’ His head looked pretty much like the other, but his hair was a lighter gold and messier. He had sunglasses as well, but his where normal. ‘Yep. Defiantly a royal thing.’

The guard pulled out a scroll and coughed in preparation of his speech. “Dear Derse kingdom. We found this troll by the forest near the border of our kingdom. We tried to reason with him but he had tried to attack.” You flinched. “And you know our rules about personality. Another thing we would like to add is the fact that we do owe you some type of payment for the destruction of your fountain. So this is our payment. Enjoy it. From, The Prospit Kingdom.”

The pointed glasses royal banged his hand on the desk in front of him in frustration. “Fucking Prospits…” He said. His voice had a southern accent to it which made the corners of your mouth twitch.  The guard stiffened in fear, and the blonde glared right at him. “Get the fuck out.” The Guard gasped and scurried over to the exit. You turned around to face him, but he was already out the door. Shit. What do you do? Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fu-

“Come here.” You slowly turned around and quivered as you got closer to him. Once you were two feet away from him, he asked what your name was. “Karkat Vantas.” You rasped. The way the blondes reacted told you that they were surprised by your voice. You haven’t spoken in a month or so, and it felt kinda weird talking for once. Nevertheless, the blonde nodded and walked pass you, facing the crowd of royals. “You are dismissed.”

The crowd of people eventually left the castle ballroom and continued their duties. You stood out in the open, un-sure of where to go. The pointed shades man walked over to you and placed his hands on your shoulders which made you wince. Scars from the whip where still there and they hurt like hell. “Karkat,” He started. “What is your blood color?” You looked into his eyes and whimpered out, “R-red…” FUCK. You stuttered! Suddenly the younger blonde rushed over to you and older blonde. “Bro, you said I could have my own troll once I did all my chores for a month, and I did so…” He said, eyeing you. His gaze and voice made you stiffen. He also had a southern tint to his voice, but his was much smoother, and kind of… well, sexy. But you weren’t going to admit that. ‘Bro’ interrupted your thoughts when he said “fine.” Your eyes widened, and you swiftly turned you head to the younger blonde who smirked. ‘Bro’ took his hands off of your shoulders and walked away to some other place of the castle. The young blonde took a step towards you and put out his hand. You quickly shook it, afraid he would harm you. The way he smirked at you made you suspicious. “alright nubby, follow me.” You growled lowly at the nick name, but not loud enough for the human to hear. You followed him throughout the castle until you reached a door at the end of a random corridor. The door has a golden palate that had ‘David’ carved on it. You guessed this was the human’s name.

David pulled out a key from his pocket and unlocked the door. It creaked as he pushed it open, and he started to walk in, motioning for you to follow. The room was completely dark until David lit a lantern and put it on a shelf. It had a dark and gloomy feel to it, and your ears folded back. The Derse disappeared into the darkness of the room and returned a few seconds later with a ragged and torn blanket. He handed it to you and sighed. “It’s all I have for now but, if you behave I can try to buy you a better one. You snorted. Welp. Better than nothing, right? You laid the blanket down on the floor across the room from David’s human bed. The beds hear where so much different from the beds from Alternia, but over time you had gotten used to it. You curled up in the blanket and closed your eyes. “Night.” You heard David say before you fell asleep for the first time in sweeps.
