celebrating karasuno getting into the finals of the volleyball competition came with its moments. currently the team was eating at a buffet restaurant.

yachi was almost shaking just looking at the boys almost inhale all of the food that was placed at the table in front of them.

"AY save some for your managers!" coach yelled at the boys,

"it's okay coach! they just played a game they need the food!" you quickly responded. coach smiled at your response and everyone kept eating.

after everyone was done eating you all gathered around the outside of the restaurant all talking about what you were doing after this, yachi was going home to study, tsukki and yamaguchi were going somewhere else, kageyama was going home, nishinoya and asahi were going to get popsicles, ect. after the crowd started disappearing you were left chatting with tanaka, suga and daichi.

"alright, bye tanaka and y/n! Suga and i are gonna go back home now!" daichi said

"bye sugawara-kun, daichi-kun!" you said waving to them as tanaka also said goodbye to them

"so what are you gonna do now y/n?" tanaka asked one of the managers

"hmm probably just gonna go him i have nothing else to do" you said. but before you could ask what tanaka was gonna do he cut you off,

"y/n i wanted to ask if you're not that busy if you maybe wanted to go see a movie?" tanaka asked getting almost to a whisper by the end of the question as he put his hand on the back of his neck. you smiled and said,

"sure! today or like tomorrow?" you asked back with a big smile.

"o-oh um today?" he said almost as a question.

"ookay! can you pick me up at my house in like 20 minutes? i wanna change out of these competition clothes and into something comfy" you smile at tanaka as he nodded. you have him your address to get you at and dash away with a smile and a wave, leaving the lovesick boy stunned.

you ran back home and burst through your door scaring your mom.

"sorrryyyyy i just gotta change i'm gonna go see a movie with guys from the volleyball team" you said as you ran up to your room to change. you changed into a slightly tight long sleeve gray shirt and a pair of red flannel pants. you laid back in your bed as you went on your phone waiting for tanaka to show up.

a couple minutes later you heard your mother speaking with someone downstairs and went to see who it was. you walked down the stairs too see tanaka standing in the kitchen with your mom in front of him with her arms crossed. you stood at the bottom of the stairs and your mom said,

"explain yourself"

"mom tanaka and i are just gonna see a movie okay, byeeee see you in a few hours" you said as you grabbed tanaka's hand and pulled him out of the door and leaving the house. you two stopped when you got off the door step and said, "sorry about my mom"

tanaka smiles and said "it's okay!" you smiled back and he said, "we gotta go before the movie starts" as he opened the passenger side of his truck for you. you sat down and he got in the other side. (hc tanaka drives nothing like his sister)

"so where are we going?" you asked tanaka. she smiled as he pulled the truck into a drive in movie lot and found a nice spot. he backed in to the parking spot and looked over at you after turning the truck off.

"come on it about to start!" tanaka said with a smile as he got out of the truck and smiled. you got out of the other side and saw tanaka laying out a blanket and a few pillows on the back of the truck so you could sit and watch the movie together. you smiled and said,

"wow that's perfect tanaka!" his face got flush as he laughed. you tried to get up onto back of the truck but couldn't reach, tanaka laughed at you and you playfully scrunched your nose and made a angry face. he smiled and wrapped his arms around your waist to lift you up onto the back of the truck. once you crawled in and sat back facing him you smiled and thanked him as he hopped on and sat next to you. the ticket seller came by and tanaka paid for your tickets. you sat back up against the pillows he set up in the back of the truck. tanaka sat up next to you. you looked at him. "thank you tanaka, this is really awesome" you smiled and watched his face get flush and then his smile beamed.

"anything for you y/n" you blushed and pulled your knees up to your chest. the movie started playing. after about 20 minutes it started getting cold out. you looked over at tanaka and lightly smiled.

"tanaka?" you said softly. the buzzcut boy looked over at you and hummed. "do you have another blanket it's getting cold"

he smiled and pulled out a folded blanket and laid it out over you. you pulled the blanket up and moved closer to tanaka. you gently dragged the blanket across him too. he looked confused,

"aren't you cold too?" you asked innocently in a whisper.

"yeah i am" he said moving directly next to you. shoulder to shoulder. it was about 40 minutes into the movie when tanaka looked over at you. you obviously saw, being right next to him, but kept your focus on the movie. you could see him begin to softly smile just looking at you and you began to smile too. he softly cleared his throat like he was gonna a say something so you looked at him with a soft hum. he looked nervous but smiled. what he said next came as no shock to you whatsoever. "y/n... i really like you" you didn't say anything for a couple of seconds. you knew the boy liked you, he was so obvious about it. you smiled and said,

"you're pretty okay yourself ryunosuke" as you moved closer to him and layed your head on his shoulder. it took him a couple seconds to understand that you basically returned his feelings but when he did he had the biggest smile. you could feel his head softly lay on top of yours as you both watched the rest of the movie together.
