AN- (P/N) means pet name, as in an actual pet, specifically a cat
It's been a week since the training camp, making it's been a week since Kuroo and I have started dating. I was getting ready to go to school when I noticed that I hadn't seen (P/N) at all today or yesterday.
"Hey Mom," I yelled as I ran down the stairs with my bag. "Yes Honey?" She asked looking up from her book in the living room. "Have you seen (P/N) lately?" I asked her as I put my shoes on. "Actually, now that you mention it, no," she says looking around, "We'll look for them after school honey."
"Okay," I say as I slipped my shoes on and went out the door. I could already see Kuroo and Kenma. I would almost always walk with them to and from school, except sometimes Kenma would go off somewhere after school leaving Kuroo and I to ourselves.
"Hey (Y/N)," Kuroo yells as he hugs me. "Hey," I smile at the both of them. "What's wrong?" He asks looking down at me. I guess I must sound worried, because I am about (P/N), and where they could be, but I didn't want to tell Kuroo about it right now. "It's nothing," I say as I start walking ahead to catch up with Kenma who had already started walking.
I don't know how I didn't realize (P/N) was missing sooner. I've been busy helping the boys with practice, and my class work, I guess I've just been too distracted.
~Time Skip~
The boys had just finished up practice and cleaning up so I was walking home with Kuroo now, since Kenma disappeared off somewhere as per usual.
"So you're still fine?" Kuroo questioned leaning in front of me so we were face to face. "Yes, I am," I say giving him a smile. "Okay," he said clearly not believing me. When I was about to walk into my house, Kuroo grabbed me and pulled me into a hug kissing to top of my head. "Call me if you need anything alright," He tells me, and I nod my head, "I will don't worry."
My front door then flies open, "What are you doing to my daughter you volleyball boy! Nothing good comes from volleyball boys!" She screamed at Kuroo slapping him with a towel. I quickly grabbed the towel out of her hands and apologized to Kuroo as I shoved her inside.
"What was that for?" I ask taking my shoes off. "No random boy is going to be kissing my daughter, even if he is the boy that lives across the street," She says walking to the kitchen dusting her hands off.
"Okay so let me get this straight, you can go over to his house and give him cookies, saying that he is probably my boyfriend, but then when he kisses me, on the top of my head may I point out, you come out and slap him with a towel?"
"Well," She freezes seeing where she went wrong, "You have a point, but unless he is actually your boyfriend then I will not let him touch a single hair on you!" "He is my boyfriend!" I yell, this was the first time she had heard about it. I didn't want to tell her right away, because I know how big of a deal she'll make it, and I needed a week to prepare myself.
"What!" She yelled looking at me in shock, "Okay well we can talk about this later, I need you to start making missing posters and what not for (P/N), I don't exactly know how to do it." I quickly nod my head and follow her.
~Another Time Skip~
I had finally finished making the posters and I had posted something about how (P/N) was missing. I had already gotten a few texts from some of my old friends from Date Tech, that actually were there for me after the car accident, saying that they'll tell me if they see them, and that they hope I find them. I'm not sure why they would see (P/N) because of the distance, but it's the thought that counts.
I was now getting my shoes on and heading out to put the posters up. My mom yelled at me from the kitchen to be back for dinner, and told me that we where sure to find (P/N) soon.
I was walking down the street putting posters up when I noticed that it felt like I was being followed. I turned around and saw Kuroo.
"What are you doing?" I asked him as he walked towards me. "What are you doing?" He asked tilting his head. "I asked you first," I state clenching the papers in my hand. He took the papers out of my hand and looked at them. "You have a cat?" He asked looking up from the papers. "Yes," I nod my head, snatching the papers out of his hands.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked pouting. "Because it didn't seem like something super important for you to know, and the opportunity never came up," I say as I turn around and start walking away, "Now I need to get these posters up!"
"Let me help," he yells running up beside me and taking the papers. "No, you don't have to," I tell him, trying to take them back. "Nope, I'm helping," He says waving them in my face with a smile.
In the end, after weighing my options, there's no reason to not let him help. We were almost out of posters when I saw a black cat tail disappear into an ally. I started to run to the ally that the cat tail disappeared into. "(Y/N)?" Kuroo yelled as he ran behind me.
As I entered the ally I noticed that is was almost empty besides a trash can and a black cat with piercing green eyes. The cat meowed at me as it jumped off a trash can and ran up to me. "(P/N)!" I yelled cheerfully as I picked them up.
"(Y/N) why did you run into the alley?" Kuroo asked before seeing the black cat in my arms. He looked down at the posters and looked back at the cat a few times. "I found them," I said holding (P/N) up to Kuroo, "Thank you for helping me"
"No problem, now let's get out of this ally," He said walking out of the ally with me trailing behind him with the small cat in my arms. "Seriously thank you, you didn't have to help," I tell him, petting (P/N)'s soft black fur.
"You seemed really torn up about it, can I ask why?" He said looking at the cat. "Well, my dad had gotten me (P/N) as a surprise, a week before the accident. My dad died in the accident so (P/N) is really special to me now," I tell. I could feel the tears falling down my face, I tried to stop them but I couldn't.
I felt Kuroo take his face in his hands and turn me towards him. I was now face to face with Kuroo. He wiped my tears off of my cheeks. "Don't cry, please," he says still holding my face, "You'll make me cry." "I-I can't help it," I said in between sniffles.
"It's okay," he said looking into my eyes, "It's okay." We stayed like that for a little bit until Kuroo leaned in and kissed me. When he broke the kiss he smiled at me.
"Your cats cute," he told me. "Thank you," I said giving a small smile, as my tears had finally stopped. "But you're still cuter," he said tapping my nose as he walked off, "And I'm more of a dog person." "Hey!" I yelled at him as I rushed after him.
When we got back to my house I invited him to stay for dinner, since he helped me find (P/N) and as an apology for my mom hitting him with a towel.
~Time Skip to After Dinner~
"Kuroo," my mom said walking into the living room, where I was sitting with Kuroo and (P/N). "Yes," He said looking away from (P/N) who he was petting.
"I'm sorry for hitting you with a towel, thank you for helping (Y/N)," she says smiling. "It's nothing," he said waving his hand, "I'd do anything for her."
"BUT I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU HURT (Y/N) IN ANYWAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, IT'S NOT GOING TO BE A TOWEL NEXT TIME," She yelled at Kuroo.
"MOM!" I yelled at her, as she held her hands up in defence and slowly backed away to the kitchen. "I'm sorry Kuroo," I said leaning my head on his shoulder. "It's fine," he said laying his head on mine.
"IT WILL BE A BUS NEXT TIME, NOT A TOWEL!"
