Katie poured herself another large glass of wine as she talked to her friends through a video call. They've been talking for almost an hour but she's barely even said a word. Something that she never did, her friends didn't want to say anything until she brought it up but after seeing that she had finished her second wine glass and not even mentioned what was going on, they had to intervene.

"Katie...what's wrong, sweetie?"

Kelly asks when Katie finishes taking a large sip of her wine.

"I'm sorry, guys. I just haven't been feeling too well. I didn't think it would be this stressful to teach a class. I can't imagine how it is when you teach 3-4 classes on top of researching."

There was no way that this was what was bothering, Katie. For the past several weeks, Katie had gone and on about how much she was loving the class. Not once did she mention being stressed or anything like that.

"Bullshit. We know you better than that. What's really bothering you, Katie?"

Nicole was the outspoken one of the group. She wasn't afraid to say what was on her mind.

Katie debated with herself internally about whether or not to tell them. On one hand, these were her best friends. She could count on them. On the other, she was feeling quite silly for getting upset with someone that she's not even dating.

"Come on. You know that you want to tell us."

She sighs and finishes her third glass. This time, she didn't bother to refill it.

"There's this woman."

"What?! How come this is the first time we're hearing about this?"

Andrea practically yells through the screen. Katie would always talk about the people she was hooking up or dating with the three of them. This was different and neither of them knew why.

"Sorry..sorry."

She mumbles when she notices Katie playfully glaring at her.

"As I was saying, before I was rudely interrupted. There's this woman that I meant teaching the acting class..."

"wait is this woman, a student of yours?"

"Yes..."

She waited for them to tell her something about fact that it was about a student but it never came.

"You guys are okay with that?"

"Well yeah, why wouldn't we be?"

"Because she's a student. My student."

"Katie, sweetie. You're a guest lecturer. What are they going to do, fire you?"

Katie chuckles softly and shakes her head.

"Okay, okay. Anyways, I've been tutoring them for a while now. I started actually tutoring her but  then we stopped tutoring all together and have just been making out the entire time."

"Ouuuu."

All three of them say, making Katie blush.

"So what's the problem? You're both just having fun."

"I was at first but then things changed. I actually started developing feelings for her. Like I genuinely think about dating her."

The three of them stay quiet. For Katie to actually say that she was thinking of dating someone was rare. Especially with the fact that Katie had only known this person for a couple of weeks. Katie was not a big fan of jumping into relationships so quickly.

"but it doesn't matter anyways. She doesn't like me like that. I overhead her talking to another one of my students about how she wanted to start a relationship with some 'Jenna' girl. I'm just coming to terms with the fact that I need to get over my crush on her. Thank god that she doesn't need tutoring anymore. I woudn't have been able to handle that."

"Are you sure that she said that? Maybe she was just using a codename for you or something?"

Katie shakes her head.

"No, way. I don't want to get my hopes up. I know for a fact that she genuinely wants to date this 'jamie' girl. Besides, it's stupid to get all worked up about this. No one talked about exclusivity or  dating or anything like that. We were just having fun."

"Katie..."

"I think, I'm just going to go to bed, guys, I'm tired."

"Wait, Katie.."

"Goodnight"

Katie hung up before she heard them answer her. She didn't bother to clean up the mess she made and just headed straight to bed. Thank god, for the fact that she had another week to deal with the mess her feelings created. From now on, she was going to be strictly professional. No more calling you out in class, no more sending you random text messages and if you needed tutoring, then you were going to have to email her and set up an appointment. The more distance she put between the two, the better.

"Guys, we need to pay her a visit. She's really broken up about this."

"I don't know, Nicole. It's not any of our business. Remember the last time, we meddled into her relationship?"

Nicole shuddered at what had happened with Katie's ex. Katie had gotten them all back for trying to fix her relationship. She knew that they cared about her but she preferred handling things on her own.

"This will be different! Come on, we can just tell her that we missed her. We won't even be there for more than a day or two. All we have to do is visit her in class and pretend that we're there to be guests for that day. We'll present and everything so she thinks we're not lying."

"And then what?"

"Then we get Katie a date!"

"I don't know Nicole..."

"Please, Kelly"

Kelly sighs and agrees.

"Are you in too, Andrea?"

"Ah, what the hell. This should be fun."
