I was woken up from the alarm clock on my nightstand telling me it was time to get up. I had to Lauren at her house today before she went to work because she had to tell me something 'important'.
I took my shower put my clothes on grabbed a peach, plum, and the two bags of strawberries that I had prepared the afternoon before out of the freezer.
Just as I was about to walk out of the house Toni came downstairs. She was always the first one up no matter how late she went to bed.
"Hey Justice, I thought I heard someone up, but then I looked at the time and realized you don't get up till two. Where you going?"
"Meet Lauren at her house she said she had to tell me something." She nodded her head and started walking to her office in the back of the house.
"Okay tell her I said hey."
It took me about forty five minutes to reach her house. I parked my car out front today and walked to the front door. I knocked on the door and stood there for a minute before she opened it.
"I'm sorry Anika plays too much come on in." I rolled my eyes at her saying Anika's name because it all made sense as to why she didn't answer my call because she was over here.
"So what's up what you wanna tell me?" I asked sitting on the couch. "Well-" She walked around looking for Anika before she spoke.
"Well I'm engaged!" She said showing me her finger. I was in shock, speechless, and hurt. "Oh my gosh congratulations!" I said trying to sound as happy as I could.
"Thank you, she didn't want me to tell anyone, but your like a sister to me so I had to tell you."
"Oh well congratulati-" I stopped speaking because Anika walked into the living room and I immediately got up. "Lauren I'll talk to you later I have to go."
"Why? I thought we could grab some celebratory breakfast before I have to go to the hospital."
"Yeah no I have to go get the twins." I walked to the door and before I could close it I felt someone try to pull me back. I turned around and it was Anika. As much as I wanted to fight her all I could do was cry so, I ran to my car and didn't look back.
I drove home immediately and as soon as I walked through the door Janet and Toni were standing there. Janet looked pissed and Toni looked scared whether she was scared for me or her I didn't know.
"Justice I know your grown, but you're due anytime this week we can't have you just leaving the house whenever." Her comment made me turn my face up.
"What? I left to go see Lauren if I went into labor there I would've been fine."
"I know that but you were driving anything could've happened." I rolled my eyes and tried to go around them. I was already in a shitty mood I didn't have the time for this.
