"Okay gigi made you some lunch." I walked back into the kitchen to see the twins eating their celery next to each other and Janet and Toni on the opposite side watching them.
"Hey Justice." Toni said smiling at me and coming to take Kobi.
"Hey, look can you guys watch her for like a hour while I run out to the store?" They we're both shocked that I asked them that because I've never left her with anyone without me being there.
"You serious?" Toni asked. "Yeah I need some fresh air I'll be back in a hour though."
"Oh we know you will, be careful Justice." Toni said while feeding Kobi. I noticed Janet had said a thing since I walked in the room she only made faces, which I could understand why she didn't speak to me.
I put my shoes on and grabbed my purse. When I walked outside the summer air hit my face and I could breathe again. Being cooped up in that house with my sister, brother, daughter, and parents were killing me softly.
I had no idea where or what I was going to do, I just knew I needed a break, only for a hour because that's the longest Kobi would stay with anyone while I was there imagine if i'm not.
I walked for twenty minutes before I walked into Nobu. I tried to call Janet to see if she wanted something, but my phone was at the apartment and I was next in line so I just got something for myself.
I went to take a seat so they could bring it to me and I could leave, but a familiar voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"I see you still order the same thing." I turned around and there stood Anika Noni fucking Rose. I pushed my seat in and headed for the restroom, I would've left but I paid for my food and I'm hungry.
I walked into a stall and wanted to scream, the most I could do was control my breathing I couldn't let her see me fall apart. When I walked out of the stall she was standing there.
"You don't wanna talk?"
"Obviously not I walked away from you didn't I?"
"I can see almost everything is the same about you, except one thing of course."
"Which is?"
"Your not pregnant anymore." She said walking over to me causing me to walk towards the door, but she grabbed my hand pulling me back and locking the bathroom door.
"Listen I know what I did was wrong, but-"
"There are no buts! First you cheat on my friend with me and promise me all these things and literally the next fucking day your marrying her! That's all I need to know, now move I have to get home to my child."
"No, listen-"
"N-"
"I love you Justice."
"No you don't get to say that you're married."
"I wish it was to you, I love you."
Janet
Justice had been gone for almost three hours, which was fine but she promised she'd be back in a hour, so Toni couldn't help but worry. She and Kobi were both in our room laying down while I got the twins ready for bed."Ma can you sing to us tonight?" Kamden asked playing in my hair as I lay between Kamden and Kori.
"No baby not tonight I have to watch K tonight."
"Can't momma do it?"
"No baby she's sick, i'll read to you and sing tomorrow night and the night after that and the night after that." I said tickling the both of them.
"Stop!" Kori yelled kicking and Kamden was just laughing. "Okay, you brushed your teeth and took your baths for tonight it's time for bed, I'll see you in the morning. I love you guys."
"I love you to mommy." They said in unison making my heart smile. I closed their door and walked into my room and both Toni and Kobi were sleep.
"I could've sang to them." I whispered to myself climbing in the bed. "Yeah you should've."
"Jesus I thought you were sleep."
"I was, but I'm up waiting for Justice she said a hour. The last time she was late she told us Travis died what if this time she is Travis."
"Toni calm down no need to get worried she's an adult."
"No she's not she's a kid in an adult body."
"Okay this is why you guys are always fighting because you refuse to believe that your daughter your first born is grown! You're holding your granddaughter for god sakes."
"Just because you have kids doesn't make you an adult!"
"You would know wouldn't you." Before she could answer the front door opened and then slammed and next was our door opening.
"Where's my child?" She asked with red eyes.
"She's right here Justice, are you okay? You said a hour and yet your three hours almost four late."
"Give me my daughter please, I'm fine." Toni didn't say anything, but she handed Kobi to Justice and she left out of the room.
"T i'll be back." I went to open Justice's door but I could hear her crying and speaking to herself.
"Uhh I'm stupid so fucking stupid! Why did I let- uhh oh my god! I promised I would never do that again, how can I raise a daughter to respect herself if I can't even do it myself."
