Mikayla's POV

Riley McDonough. Something about this young man made me happy...giddy in fact. Even just hearing his name is enough to make me feel the butterflies in my stomach. The things he does- smile, laugh, speak, sing and even such typical stuff like texting, eating, and sleeping are enough to get my pulse rising, and heart beating faster.

I was just staring into blank space in my living room, forgetting that the TV was on. Why? Oh let's see. Riley was coming over to hang out. I was surprised when the doorbell rang, so I immediately jolted up and cautiously walked to the door, opening it. "Hey Mikayla." Riley smiled.

Thump thump. There goes my heartbeat. I gulped slightly and smiled. "Hey Ri."

I let him in, and we went to the living room. I fell to the couch, and Riley followed, falling into place beside me. He turned to face me, and I quickly glanced at him. "You know..." he started slowly.

"Hmm?" I tried to keep cool.

Riley continued, "That messy bun really suits you. I mean, you always look good, but this is my favorite look on you."

5H's song, Sledgehammer, would be the perfect way to describe how I'm feeling. You know...if you could feel my heartbeat  now it would hit you like a sledgehammer.

I blushed and despite my heavily beating heart, I managed to grin. "Thank you."

I then looked at the TV, but when I glanced at Riley, he was looking at me with the most charming smile. "Um..." I said quietly.

"I love you." he inched closer. "Ever since the day I met you. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Those words and his entire existence was making my blood rush again! But then, this was the most amazing thing ever. So, I placed my hand on his. "I love you too. I'd love to be your girl." I let out a chuckle.

"Yes! Thank you, Mikayla!" Riley grinned.

I giggled. When he calmed down, he cupped my face. I knew what was next, and my heart still beat furiously.

I love it.
