After two weeks of the Defender and Offender Leaders arriving home, something awful happens on both sides... But let's begin with the Rebellion.
Edd, the rebel leader who gives the most important orders, the one who manages the Rebellion's finances, and the one who prevents even the most insignificant people from getting hurt... has gotten Bloodburn.
Edd rests in his bed with his fever raging and dry blood coating his hands and the front of his shirt from coughing it up so much, he doesn't even have the voice to cry out for help. But lucky for Edd, Tom noticed that Edd was late to breakfast so he decides to go to his room and see if he's okay...
Tom knocks on Edd's door and says, "Hey Edd! I noticed you didn't come to breakfast from what I assume is sleeping in, so I decided to grab you a bagged croissant. You like croissants right?" but then Tom doesn't hear a sound. "You okay in there?" more silence. "Okay I'm coming in now if you like it or not," Tom then opens the door and when he sees Edd's face a bright red and blood on his hands and shirt, he screams, "EDD NO!"
After Tom calls the medic and they take Edd to the infirmary, Tom and Matt sit at Edd's sides with masks on their face and a frown underneath. When Edd slowly wakes up, Tom says, "Edd! Edd are you awake?!" and goes to hold his hands, but then notices the blood under his nails and pulls back.
"Yeah Tom.. I'm awake," Edd says and coughs blood on to his chin.
"Oh god Edd..." Tom says as both his and Matt's face fill with tears. "I can't believe this is happening..."
Samantha walks over to us and says, "Our scientists have come up with a medicine that will prevent the fevers from becoming too high which will give Green Leader more time."
"Please give it to him doctor!" Tom says to Samantha with panic in his eyes, you can tell that if Edd dies.. then he'll be completely broken.
"I'll go prepare the needle," Samantha says and walks away while Tom is on the verge of a panic attack.
"Tom.." Edd says with a raspy voice, which catches Tom's attention and he spins his head to his best friend.
"What is it Edd??" Tom asks in a frenzy. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Tom," Edd begins with a tired worried look. "I need you to relax."
"I.." Tears begin to drip from underneath Tom's visor. "Edd I.. I can't- I..."
"Tom," Edd says and Tom looks at him as tears drip down his cheeks.
"Imagine a bubble in front of you," Edd begins. "I want you to grasp that bubble very carefully within your hands."
"Edd I can't-"
"Tom, grasp the bubble," Edd cuts Tom off which makes Tom flinches, Tom slowly nods as he pretends there's a bubble in front of him and he places his hands at the sides of it, carefully holding it and making sure it doesn't pop within his fingers. "Now I want you to slowly breath in through your nose and as you breath in, I want you to continue to hold the bubble carefully as it increases in size, okay?" Tom nods, he slowly begins to breath in and as he breaths the imaginary bubble growing bigger and his hands move away from each other to keep holding the sides of the bubble.
