After the initial shock faded, all that was left was anger. It was also kind of funny. She wasn't actually angry at him; it was just a sense of disbelief and a part of her took his actions as a challenge. I'm going to show him, she thought, I'll learn by myself. This dumbass.
She set her bag in the chair behind the cash register and started getting to work.
"What happened?" she muttered to herself as she tried to recall what led to her activating the unconscious part of her quirk.
She remembers the repetitive ticking of the clock, the need for a distraction, and looking outside the window as she activated her quirk. There was nothing different about that time as far as she could tell. She activated her quirk like she usually does and she focused on the rain. She always did that. What made this attempt so different?
Did the recent events influence it? She thought and then wiped that thought away, It's way too cliché.
She doesn't believe it but a part of her wants to try it out. Maybe if she made herself sad enough, the world will take pity on her and enhance her powers. The idea left her head as soon as it how stupid it was.
Maybe if I focus on the rain, she thought as she glanced out one of the windows. It looked out onto the other part of her shop where the outdoor plants and some short trees were.
It was a perfect place for her to practice her craft as the area wasn't covered by a ceiling and allowed for rainwater to seep in. She could stay where she is and summon rain which would fall in that area. That way, she can watch the rain and concentrate on it.This idea seemed pretty stupid to her as well but it was slightly less stupid than the other one. It was better to go with the safer option.
(Y/N) activated her quirk and watched the rain from the window. It started as it always does when she uses her quirk for entertainment, the light rhythmic tapping slowly transitioning into heavy splatters. Oh, how she loved the rain. She could listen to its gentle melody for hours and her eyes followed the many raindrops. A part of her wished that she was on the other side, soaking in the rain.
Although she was not physically under the rain, she could imagine what it was supposed to feel like. No matter where she is or what she is doing, she can imagine the feeling of soaking in the rain.
It was almost like she had a connection with the rain.
That seemed to be the key to figuring it all out. Once she realized that a connection was all it took, the soft murmur of the rain seemed closer than before. The rain hammered against her skin and she smiled a soft smile as the waterdrops caressed her face.
Right as she opened her eyes, she heard the sound of the wind chimes and she turned to face the door, knowing exactly who it was.
"You said you won't teach me, is that right," She smirked as she taunted him, "sensei?"
Once he got over the initial shock, he sighed lightly. "I look like the asshole now, don't I?" He said it like it was a pain but she could see the proud smile that he was hiding.
"You do," she replied and she gestured to the plastic bag that he had in his right hand, "What's that?"
"Ice cream," he replied, "I figured it was a good form of, hey stop making that face at me."
"You're so sweet."
He rolled his eyes and took out a chocolate and a matcha ice cream bar. "Which one?" Before she could decide, he handed her the chocolate and opened his matcha ice cream bar.
"What if I wanted that one?" She asked and he bit his bar while making eye contact with her as a show of dominance, "Still want it?"
She rolled her eyes as he laughed and went into the deeper part of the shop to relax. (Y/N) walked behind the counter and plopped down on her chair, forgetting that it was wet.
