it ate her alive to know it had been kihyun. it ate her alive to know she couldn't tell jooheon.

that's why when he looked into her eyes, she quickly looked away as guilt painted all over her face.

"alright... you acting weird." he said focusing on the dishes instead. it was the last of them.

jooheon passed a pair of glasses that she dried with a kitchen rag. "what is it?" he asked again.

she smiled, a sad kind of smile and turned to look at him when he closed the water faucet. he handed her the last plate and turned to look at her.

"you are so great lee joheon." she said as her cheeks turned red. he frowned and then looked away. "tsk. you drunk or what?"

"i am not." she quickly said leaving the plate with the rest.

"you liked it." she mumbled, looking down at the floor. jooheon frowned again, looking at her confused. "what?"

"coming here... meeting my mom, the restaurant? - she said pointing at her surroundings- just, haging out with us..." she didn't know what else to say.but then jooheon understood everything.

"ah... it turned out like i said?" boki sighed and finally nodded.

"he didn't even get to say goodbye to my mom... he just told me to tell her that he liked meeting her and that he liked the restaurant."

"hey... - he said offended - he didn't even get to try the special plate i put for him... with extra jooheon dna." with this both of them laughed. boki walked towards the backdoor and stepped outside, jooheon followed her as he carried some boxes with clean pots.

"i don't get it." she said turning to look at him.

"why?" she seemed confused. jooheon only sighed.

"it's how these people are... he was born with a silver spoon up his ass... he's not warm, he doesn't understand what family, friendship and love means... the concept is confusing for him, you can't blame him." he said with the tone she always used with him, when she talked about kihyun. she almost rolled her eyes.

"i know what you're doing."

"he's just a psychopath okay? just like that. stay away from him."they remained silent for a few seconds.

"you liked it though." she said again, turning to look at him. their eyes met for a second and she noticed how jooheon's chest was going up and down faster.

"yeah kumquat...because i am normal. i am not a heartless wacko like your boyfriend." he said with his usual annoyed tone. boki smiled as she acknowledged that was probably true.

"kids!" mrs. do appeared on the door, waving at them.

"dinner's ready, come now." and just like that, dinner ended and jooheon spent the whole time rolling his eyes, whenever boki's mom asked something about kihyun, after she found out they were step brothers. and every time jooheon tried to badmouth him, boki would fix it, saying other thing to make kihyun look good.

just like that, jooheon's mood changed during the dinner, when boki's mom complained about how he didn't stay to try the food. "ahh eomeoni... don't worry about it, he's not worthy of your cooking. he's too... bland." boki glared at him as she excused kihyun, saying he had been called from his house and he had to leave right away.

but jooheon knew better, he knew something had happened.

once they finished cleaning the kitchen, mrs. do bid her goodbye and left them with instructions of cleaning the rest of the tables and washing the floors. she went back to the house and just jooheon and boki stayed behind in the restaurant.
