"god this day was endless." he complained as he started putting up the chairs on top of the tables, boki laughed.
"but it was a good day... i mean good money. that means bonuses for jooheonie at the end of the week." he made a small victory dance when she said that.
suddenly her phone beeped and kihyun's name appeared on the screen. a text.
kihyunnie: i am sorry to bother you so soon it's just... i feel we left it awkward between us.
kihyunnie: i don't want us to be awkward, can you forgive me?
kihyunnie: you're the most important thing in my life... i don't want to lose you.
kihyunnie: are you mad at me?
she swallowed hard as her heart raced. it was exactly what she was thinking about.
she felt the way they said goodbye was awkward and she hoped they would have done it better.
she glanced at jooheon who was now moping the floors.
boki: i know. i feel terrible too... we shouldn't have said our goodbyes like that. i agree, it was awkward.
boki: but i don't want it to be awkward between us neither.
boki: i am not mad at you, at all... i am sorry for mentioning a break, if i am honest, i don't want a break! i don't want to be away from you.
boki: i just want to be with you
she felt jooheon's presence close to her and she quickly pulled her phone back into her pocket.
boki knew she couldn't feel like this around jooheon, but it seemed every time she texted kihyun, he had something to say about it.
"you know? i was thinking... what if we... turn things upside down?" jooheon's voice made her jump in surprise.
"uh... what?"
"yeah i mean... your mom's food is amazing... the best i've tried but... doesn't the restaurant looks a bit - he said putting his hands on his hips, frowning - boring?" boki looked around and realized what jooheon said was probably true.
"yeah... i mean it definitely doesn't look like the ones from seoul."
"yes! that's my point... i've seen familiar places that are pretty cool like... they have this amazing exterior design, nothing too fancy or elaborated just a nice small billboard... like and... the interiors are with fun colors and more updated furniture... i mean - he said scratching the back of his neck - this could be a nice place if we- he said pointing at the two of them - work it out. what you think?" he crossed his arms on his chest, eyes widened and sparkling with excitement as he waited for her answer.
boki laughed and hit his arm softly. she felt them like rocks under her fist and swallowed hard. "s-sure... let's talk with the owner and we'll see what she thinks of it?" he smiled big time.
"great. tomorrow we'll do that."
"great... you have ideas?"
"tsk. that's my middle name... - he said nodding but then he narrowed his eyes and shook his head - with my creative talent and your - he stopped talking, narrowing his eyes again, trying to find something for boki too - and your.... ability to ... fuck it, i give up... i think we can make it work." he said smiling.
boki couldn't help but laugh as she pushed him softly. "alright, but let's finish this first. it's late and i am tired." jooheon nodded quickly as he returned to moping the floors. boki glanced at him as she cleaned the chairs.
