Ivy looked over her shoulder when she felt someone come up behind her. She smiled when she saw that it was Isaac. The man finally looked rested; the two girls had practically forced him to take a rest. After giving Ivy instructions, he gave into their demands and went to go take a nap. That nap turned out to be almost twelve hours long and it did wonders for him. His skin was healthier looking now and there were no longer slight bags under his eyes. There had been a short time when he had woken up due to the storm outside, but Nicole was able to calm him down and get him to go back to sleep.
"Wanna trade off?" Isaac asked, looking almost hopeful.
Ivy chuckled at his expression and nodded. She briefly turned on the autopilot so she could get up and allow Isaac to take her place. The girls watched as he took control of the Berg, checking their position and smiling a little.
"What's the news, captain?" Nicole questioned in an amused tone.
"We're close to the Last City," he told them. "About an hour out now. I'll radio our allies when we're about half an hour away." He glanced at Ivy. "Nice job."
"Had a good teacher," she responded. "What's going to happen when we get there?"
"Not sure yet. Hopefully our allies will give us a place to live so we can lay low."
"And then?"
"We'll take it from there."
Ivy nodded.
"What about Chris?" Nicole then asked. She glanced back at where his body still lay. "What are we going to do with him? We can't just leave him here."
"We'll bury him," Isaac said after a brief pause. "We'll do it when we land. I'll let them know when I radio in."
A small silence fell over them, allowing them to briefly mourn their friend. Ivy excused herself so she could go rewrap her stitches.
She sat herself down on the ground, pulling the backpack of supplies close to her. Sparing a quick glance at Chris's body, Ivy began to unwrap her wounds. The girl grimaced at the sight of her stitches. The stitches themselves were mostly intact but there was dried blood around them, causing them to look much worse than they probably were. Ivy knew that she would have to clean it soon if she didn't want it to get infected. She almost chuckled at the idea of getting scolded by Newt and Minho for not having done so already.
She recalled the night she escaped the Maze. She had escaped nearly unscathed; her only injury was the cut along her stomach. The moment she was reunited with Minho and Newt, the two were focused on making sure she was all right.
~flashback~
"Boys, I'm okay," Ivy said, rolling her eyes at them.
"Ivy, you're bleeding," Newt said in a 'duh' tone. "You're not okay."
The two set her down on her bed. Newt sat down beside her while Minho lit a candle so they could see before heading for the door.
"Where are you going?" Ivy questioned.
"To get supplies to clean and bandage your cut. It's still bleeding and we can't let it get infected." He looked at Newt. "Don't let her move."
Before Ivy could say anything, Minho left the hut. The girl groaned quietly, falling back on to her bed. Now that she was no longer running, she could feel the exhaustion seeping into her bones and muscles. Ivy let her eyes slip shut, a small smile on her face. Her peace was interrupted when Newt gently pushed her arm. Ivy groaned again but did not open her eyes.
"What do you want?"
"You need to stay awake, Ivy."
"Why?"
