"Everybody go," Wolf ordered, quickly standing to his feet. "Isaac, get to the Berg, start it up. Gally, you go with him. Jocelyn and Erin, gather whatever food you can carry. Ivy, help James and Eliza gather supplies. Nicole and Graham, you're with me. We're grabbing weapons. We need to leave, now."
The group hurried out of the room, moving quickly to do the tasks they had been assigned. Ivy ran after James and Eliza, who were headed to their rooms.
"Ivy, get the bag you brought from WCKD," James said. "We need to fill it with whatever we can: bandages, medicine, anything else we think we might need."
"I have a bag or two in my room," Eliza told them. "I can store it with the weapons I've made."
"Okay, but make it quick. We're not leaving anyone behind."
Eliza nodded and ducked into her room. Ivy ran into her room, grabbing the backpack out from under her bed before going to James' room. She grabbed whatever supplies she could and shoved them inside. At one point, she yanked her hand away, cursing slightly when she got poked by a needle. She wiped her hand on her pants, ignoring the pain. When her backpack was full, she closed it and threw it over her shoulders as she turned to James, who had just finished filling his own bag. The two stiffened when they heard louder shrieks than they did earlier. They ran down to Eliza and Graham's room.
"How's it coming?" James asked.
"Almost done," Eliza responded, not looking up at him. "I only have a few things left."
"Go find Jocelyn and Erin," Ivy told the tall man. "Get them to the Berg. We'll be there shortly."
"You sure?"
Ivy nodded. James patted her on the shoulder before taking off down the hall. Ivy grabbed the third empty duffle bag and started filling it with different tools. She figured she would let Eliza handle the weapons, that way Ivy didn't accidentally blow the two of them up.
"What else do we need?" she asked the older girl as she finished packing her bag.
"Glance through Graham's stuff. He might have something."
Ivy looked around Graham's side of the room. She threw a few things on the floor, trying to see if there was anything important. She was about to turn and grab her bag when she noticed several pictures lying by the pillow. She didn't have the chance to look at it when she heard another Crank screech.
"We need to go!" she said, carefully folding and pocketing the pictures.
Eliza slung her two bags over her shoulders as Ivy did the same with hers. The two darted out of the room. Eliza began to lead them down the hall that would lead them outside when they heard a Crank coming from that direction.
"Sh*t," Eliza said. She pushed Ivy in the opposite direction. "Down here, quickly. If we run into any Cranks, don't let them touch you."
Ivy nodded, following Eliza's directions. They ran back the way they had come, eventually making their way to the kitchen. The cupboards and cabinets were wide open, revealing their empty shelving.
"Guess they're all ready on their way outside," Ivy said. "Where's the fastest way out?"
"Down the hall, make a right, then down the staircase on the left at the end of the hall."
They were about to start toward the hall when a screech was heard, followed by the sound of unsteady footsteps.
"Guess we're not going that way!"
"This way," Ivy said, grabbing Eliza's arm.
They went back down the hall they had first come from. Ivy's eyes widened when she noticed a shadow shaped like a deformed person at the end of the hall. Looking over her shoulder, she caught a flash of a bent arm. She quickly dashed through a doorway, prompting Eliza to follow her. Eliza stared for a brief moment when she saw that they were in the second tier of the theater seating.
