Promise Me (Hinata x Reader)

We were on our way to a practice match with Aoba Johsai. My palms became sweaty as the school started to come into view. The last time I had seen their team captain things went.. awkwardly.

We arrived and walked into the school's gym. The first person to greet me was their captain, Oikawa Tooru. He bowed and apologized for the way he acted last time I saw him. I looked behind him and a boy with dark hair was shooting glares into the back of Oikawa-senpai's head. Interesting. 

Surprising

"I should not have acted that way! I'm so sorry! I had no idea you were with Orange over here," he said pointing to Shoyo, "It won't happen again. I swear!" He bowed one last time. I nodded my head and he turned around and walked over to the dark haired boy. The boy smacked Oikawa in the back of the head. 

"Owww, Iwa-chan!! What was that forrr?" Oikawa whined. Iwa-chan? Probably a nickname. I'll ask Daichi later what his real name is. 

~Time Skip~

It was a Friday and Ryu, Nishinoya, Shoyo, and I were supposed to go get some ramen after practice. I walked into class and made eye contact with Sora. I was expecting a glare from him or for him to turn away, like usual. But this time he gave me a small smile and waved. I grinned widely at him and waved back. He even waved to Shoyo when he walked in. Shoyo shot me a puzzled look. I responded with a shrug. I was super happy that Sora wasn't upset with me anymore. 

~Sora POV (A few days prior to Friday)~

I missed (Y/n)-chan and Hinata-kun. Am I jealous that Hinata is dating (Y/n)? Yes. But I miss my friends a lot.. I feel really silly for letting them go because I couldn't get over my feelings for (Y/n). 

I could feel myself tearing up. Sometimes I think about what would've happened if I had just told her sooner. If I wasn't such a coward. If I wasn't so scared. Would things have been different?  I wonder..

~(Y/n) POV~

I was handing out water bottles and my favourite player came running to me. 

"(Y/n)-chan!!" Shoyo came running at me and nearly knocked me over. I giggled and hugged him. 

"Hey, Shoyo," I smiled and kissed him on the cheek. He blushed a light pink and took the water bottle. 

"I see it's going well with Hinata?" Kiyoko asked me. I nodded and bit my nail. "Is something the matter?"

"No, no. I'm fine. Just, ugh. What if he grows tired of me? Or finds someone else?" I responded. Worry lingered in my voice. The older girl patted my back. 

"You have nothing to worry about, (y/n)," She assured me. I nodded hesitantly and sat back down on the bench.
