it was the night of ten and johnny's engagement party. surprisingly, jaehyun didn't bring a fling in a party this time. it was johnny's request from him.

the party was almost over and the bottoms were separated from the tops as they had their drinks. jaehyun was close to getting drunk. he told himself that he'll get wasted again this time. it's been a while since he last did and he wanted to let out all the frustrations from his chest.

"you're gonna waste all my money on those alcohol, jung."

"oh come on, you're rich!" jaehyun said. he was a little tipsy and the alcohol was finally hitting him.

"yeah john, cut him some slack. he's been depressed since taeyong." yuta said.

jaehyun put his arm around yuta saying, "my only true bro left."

jaehyun filled his glass with more alcohol and downing it immediately. "i don't think taeyong wants me back, anymore." he said out of nowhere causing the rest to look at him.

"his mood swings are hitting me hard. a few minutes, he's nice and cute, then the next minute, he's annoyed at me for being everywhere."

his glass was emptied in a snap and he was back to pouring more, "i don't know if he wants me or if he still loathes me for cheating. i mean, c'mon, he cheated too! i have every right to get mad, don't i?" he faced lucas who was just sitting back with a glass of beer in hand listening to another batch of taeyong rants coming out of his mouth.

"should i give up on him?"

suddenly the three boys turned to look at him worriedly. they didn't think jaehyun would think of this, they thought he was going to continue until taeyong gives in.

"i'm growing tired of him."

"you are?"

they all turned to look at the source of voice. taeyong stood still, tears pooling his eyes to the brim, his friends awkwardly trailing behind. suddenly, jaehyun couldn't get words out of his mouth far from how he did a few seconds back. but before someone could speak, taeyong left. "tae--fuck!" jaehyun rubbed his forehead, frustrated as he sat back down. no one dared to come follow taeyong, because at this point, only jaehyun can do that.

taeyong drove as fast as he can. for a pregnant man--driving above speed limit, he was in great danger, and he knew that.

in a few minutes of crying, jaehyun finally stood up grabbing his coat and keys leaving his friends. he didn't care about anything at this moment, he just wanted to see taeyong. will i see taeyong?

he drove out of the place trying to catch taeyong's car but it was nowhere to be found. he went where he knew taeyong would most likely be. he was nervous as he drove fast. he hoped taeyong was okay when he sees him. he hoped nothing happened to him as his guts were saying otherwise.

jaehyun stumbled against the elevator doors trying to push the right buttons. he was tipsy and he wanted to see taeyong. "i'm getting him back." he said out of impulse. he wasn't in the right mind for a normal person but he knew this was the right thing to do. and he should've done it a long time ago.

the doors opened to taeyong's penthouse. it was dark. taeyong was there and he was crying, on the couch, alone. he watched the latter get up and walk away, not noticing the man from the lift.

"taeyong..."

the latter stopped on his tracks and slowly looked back. "what are you doing here, i thought you grew tired of me?"

"taeyong, i'm sorry." tears started forming on jaehyun's eyes. "yes i said i was growing tired, but i'm not stopping there."

"there's a lot more i can do. i can always take a break and come back to you, can't i? that way i wouldn't give up." his tears were slowly falling. "i'm not drunk, i want you back."

this sent taeyong to cry even harder.

"i really do. please give me a chance. i don't know what to do without you. i've been a mess, tae, and i don't know if i can keep doing this."

"i really need you back, taeyong. i love you so much. i didn't stop. i never did. you've been in my mind all the time." they looked each other right in the eyes. their eyes sparkle with tears against the moonlight through the windows.

"i'm sorry i cheated. i'm sorry i didn't tell you. i'm sorry i tried to find someone else when i could've just waited for you. taeyong, i'm sorry."

"i wanna have this baby with you. i wanna create a family with you. i wanna marry you, tae. what jessica noona said was all true. remember when we used to plan our future back in college?"

"baby, i love you. do you still wanna have a family with me?"

taeyong walked closer to the man slowly. he held his face as if he has the whole world on his hands. they both cried seeing each other as close as this. seeing both their features as close as this. feeling their breaths as close as this. they missed having each other as close as this.

"what if i hurt you again?"

"then i'll forgive you over and over again."

"what if we both mess up again?"

"then we'll both fix it together again."

"what if we grow tired of each other again?"

"baby, we'll take a break together and continue again."

"what if--"  time stopped as taeyong was cut off with familiar lips pressed against his.

jaehyun was the one. taeyong knew that from the very start. they were both dumb adults who both made a mistake. but they were also smart enough to find their way back to each other. mistakes are never absent in every relationship, it's a way to make your grip tighter as you held onto the other person. but there are always mistakes, and there are always chances. taeyong and jaehyun never realized that before, but they did now. he's all i ever wanted and all i ever needed.

taeyong found back his home. he was happy now. he was contented.

tears fell like waterfalls out of both their eyes. their hold growing tighter and tighter against each other. breaking off, they landed their forehead against the other trying to catch their breath.

"this is it?"

"this is it, baby. no more fooling around, i will never let you go again. i promise."

taeyong's arms snaked around jaehyun's waist, burying his face against his chest letting every tear out. jaehyun lightly kissed his head as he held on taeyong tightly.

"yes, i have your baby inside me, and yes, we're getting married."

what came out a whisper out of jaehyun's mouth, "i love you."
