"Oh Victor!" At the sudden mention of his name, the postman flinched slightly in reflex as he was still not used to communicating with other survivors he was not close with. It has only been a few seconds since he had taken a step outside of his room and there were already eyes on him. Turning around to face the gardener who had called out to him, he notices the new survivor standing behind Emma as she bows her head nervously as a greeting when their eyes accidentally meet and in response, Victor did the best he could to give her a welcoming smile as he bowed his head slightly as well.
"I'm sorry to bother you but I have to be away for a match and if it's not too much for you to handle, could you give our new friend a tour?" Emma kindly asks, hoping for the postman to be free since all the other survivors she has encountered either refused to help or were already occupied with their own businesses. Although the blonde was hesitant to take over the job as a tour since he was doubtful of his own skills of giving a warm welcome to the new participant to ensure that they would feel comfortable, he still accepted the request as he knew he would feel bad for turning down the request afterwards so he ended up nodding his head as an agreement which causes a wide smile to spread across Emma's cheeks.
"Thank you Victor! I owe you one. I'm sorry but I'm really sorry but I'm in a hurry. From what I can tell so far, Miss (L/N) is a very considerate person so there's nothing for you to be worried about!" And with that, the gardener took off at the speed of lightning after receiving consent from the postman, leaving two awkward people standing together in silence. Now that he was finally alone with the new survivor, he began to feel nervous again but did his best not to let it show. Taking out the notepad from his pockets, he writes down what he wants to say towards the female survivor before showing it to her.
"I hope you do not mind the sudden change but I will do my absolute best to show you around. My name is Victor Granz and I work as a postman." He introduces himself, watching Wick's reaction to the new figure before them from the corner of his eyes. His nervousness soon turned into confusion when the female survivor did hand gestures which he could not understand and after a few seconds of staring, the realisation finally dawned upon him as he recognised those hand gestures as sign language. "I'm sorry...I can only understand the basics." He then offers her his pen and notepad for her to take to write a response.
"Oh no worries! It's already good enough that you know the basics. Thank you for looking after me, I'm (Y/N) (L/N) and my occupation is a florist." She returned his belongings and took out her own paper and pen to write on so that it would be more convenient rather than passing the paper back and forth. Her eyes then trailed down on the food to see a dog standing beside Victor and a grin started to form on her lips as she noticed that it was wearing a hat. 'So cute...' It was awfully tempting to pet the dog but she held back herself since she was unsure if the owner was fine with others touching his companion and there was also a chance that the dog may bite as well.
The florist's staring did not go unnoticed by the postman of course since it was incredibly obvious for anyone to see that she was curious about his friend. "This is my friend, Wick. He helps me to deliver letters occasionally too." He explains as he picked Wick up for (Y/N) to have a closer look, she didn't seem to be afraid of him which was a good sign since there were few people who he has encountered appeared to be fearful of his harmless friend due to how intimidating he looked but the truth was he was the most friendliest dog Victor has ever met. It took some time for the other residents who were uncomfortable with dogs to get used to his presence as well but luckily for them, there weren't many who were bothered.
