[Ch8] -The Promise- [S1]

Rak was chilling near the back of the room, just vibing with his banana.

I curled up against the wall, just about ready to fall asleep from all the explaining.

"Phew, what a relief."

"Yeah. Wave controller might be hard, but it's good anyways."

"Oh..um...Mr. Khun and Ms. (Y/N)?"

Hm? "What?"

"What?"

"Um...how's Rachel?"

Seriously?! You ask how she's doing when the girl who you literally made her half-blind is standing right in front of you?!

Khun acted all sketchy-like, he was obviously lying. "R-rachel? You mean the girl you saved?"

"Yeah-"

"Oh she's fine! The wound wasn't deep at all! Thank god!! Rachel..Haha...yeah..."

I'm pissed at both Khun and Bam now.

"But Bam...that girl...I don't' think that's the girl you're looking for. I asked her and she said she's never seen you before. She doesn't know you."

"Huh..? It can't be..."

"I think you were confused, Bam. Everyone has those moments."

Bam looked really sad at that, but I was done being sorry for him. It's time he noticed that he made me half blind.

"Look, Bam, I'm sorry that you didn't find your girl that you were looking for."

I got up from the bed, making eye contact with Bam.

"But, have you noticed the girl right here? With one eye gone?"

Bam looked at me for a few seconds, then schock spread across his face. "Oh no!! (Y/N), what happened?"

OH MY GOD HE REALLY DOESN'T KNOW-

I must've been glaring at him, because he got a really scared look on his face.

Well, if he didn't know what had happened...I guess it wasn't his fault entirely.

"Agh, I give up. Khun, explain what happened."

"Ugh, ok. So basically when you were protecting that girl, you released a huge wave of shinsu around you. (Y/N) was behind that jumpsuit girl, so she got hit with it. Both of them got hit with your shinsu. Resulting in (Y/N) and the jumpsuit girl both having one eye gone."

Bam looked horrified at what he'd done.

"I'm so sorry (Y/N)...!"

Oh he looks so sad...Ok, I'll forgive him.

"It's ok Bam. At least you didn't take both of my eyes. I will want compensation, though."

"Oh (Y/N), give Bam a break. He just woke up."

"Shut up. You're not the one with an eye gone."

"Of course I will make it up to (Y/N)! Khun, you don't need to defend me."

"Yeah Khun! Let Bam defend himself!"

Khun facepalmed at my antics, so fed up with me. "Ugh..I swear, you're going to be the death of me..."

I was walking in the hallways, bored out of my mind.

I spotted a familiar blue-haired jerk up ahead.

"Heyyy!!! Khun!!!" I ran towards him, trying to catch up.

He turned to see me, then got an annoyed look on his face. "Oh, it's you (Y/N)."

"What do you mean it's me?!"

He turned away, not wanting to talk to me. "Nothing."

This guy...! "It's not nothing if you say it in that tune."

He turned back to face me, still annoyed with me. "In what tune?"

"The tune that you're saying right now!"

"What tune?!"

Wow, for a member of the Khun family, he's really dumb sometimes. I roll my eyes at him, making him even more annoyed. "This tune! Like that tune when you're fed up with someone!"

"Well maybe I am fed up with someone!"

"Oh?! And who is that someone?!"

"It's obviously-"

A door bursts open near us, startling both of us.

"Hey! Could you have your lover's quarrel somewhere else?!"

We both whip our heads to the regular who is complaining about us. "We're not dating!"

"Yeah yeah, fight, argument, whatever you're having could you have it somewhere else?! Or quiet down at least?"

He shut the door behind him, leaving us dumbfounded.

"HahahHAhahahah!"

Both of us start laughing like crazy for no reason, tears appearing in our eyes.

"Shh! He'll-hahahah-He'll come back again,"

"Hahaha-like you're one to talk-"

We finally both stop laughing, sitting against the wall.

After a little silence, I open my mouth to speak.

"Hey Khun?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you ever heard of the ocean?"

He turned to face me, confused. "What?"

"It's this big thing of water, stretching out further than your eyes can see. Apparently, there's all sorts of things in the ocean. Like different animals, plants, and even these things called volcanoes!"

I paused, looking up at the fake sky.

I've seen the stars...but never the ocean.

"My mother, she had something from the ocean. It was beautiful, full of twists and turns, colors rippling across the surface. She called it a "shell". One day, when I was playing with it, it broke. I was so afraid that she was going to get mad at me. When she found out, she just shook her head and put it in the trash."

Khun looked at me, wondering where this story was going.

"I always regretted breaking that shell, it was so beautiful and it was one of a kind. But, I did break it. And broken things get thrown in the trash."

I looked at Khun straight in his eyes, and asked him something that would stay with us for a long time.

"Promise me you won't leave me once I'm broken."

He looked a little confused at my request, but then he smiled at me. She seems really serious about this promise.

"I won't leave you, I promise."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Alright, this was sappy as HECC but this will be IMPORTANTO later. I have so much plans for this story, even though it's only a crappy fanfic, lol. I tried to make this as romantic without making them seem like a couple too much, but I'm not sure if that worked. I literally searched up sappy romantic manga moments and just mashed a bunch of tropes together skjskjskjsk oh well it's not that bad, I guess.
