As I walked down the stairs, my focus was all over the place. It felt like my brain was splitting into two, creating a throbbing headache as a result.
And as another result, my feet tripped over the steep stairs.
"Ah-" The rush of falling brought me back to my senses, temporarily cutting me off from the pain.
Thud.
As I lay on the stairs, I could hear Hwaryun coming down.
"(Y/N)!"
I struggled to get up, my fingers grasping at the railings. "Tch."
Hwaryun looked at me with concern, bringing out a medicine bottle. "Here. Take one of these every time you have a headache."
"Huh?"
"The higher-ups thought this would happen, so they told me to bring you some medicine to help."
A pause came before my agreement, slowly reaching out for the medicine bottle. "How nice of them."
Hwaryun smiled at that, showing a softer side to her.
As I downed a tablet, my mind instantly felt better. "...thanks Hwaryun."
"Just doing my job."
I heard another person coming up the stairs, and I turned to see Ehwa. "I heard a huge sound...(Y/N) are you ok?"
I shouldn't tell her. It's better for everyone not to worry about me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just got a splitting headache, and then I tripped. I'm okay now."
"You sure...?"
"Yes." I stood up, ignoring the sharp pain I felt in my ankle.
Darn it...I sprained it. I'll have to look at it later.
But it turns out I overestimated how much my body could take.
I nearly fell down again, and I would've if not for Hwaryun. "(Y/N), don't overexert yourself. Did you sprain your ankle?"
I quickly shoved Hwaryun away from me, grabbing onto the railing instead. "Yes, I'm fine, I just haven't regained my balance yet."
Ehwa glared at me, climbing up the stairs. "I don't believe that for one second." She grabbed my hand, supporting me as I walked downward. "Here, we'll look at it later. Let's get back to the others."
She quickly walked down, and I was basically dragged along. "Hey, do you know that red-haired girl? Who is she?" Ehwa whispered to me, making sure that Hwaryun couldn't hear us.
"She's just a friend from the test floor. It's a long story that I'd rather not explain."
Ehwa looked worriedly at me and Hwaryun, promising herself that she'd find out more. "...Alright."
---
As Ehwa set me down on the waiting bench, shoving Wangnan off. "Hey!!" Both me and Ehwa ignored him, and Hwaryun stood around.
