Adam POV

His arms were snaked around my waist, still sat in darkness and every loud noise frightening me thinking it was those people, his nose buried in my hair,

"I'm sorry" he whispered, "I'm sorry I didn't mean for any of this to happen" his arms tightened around my waist,

"Xavier" I sighed I didn't exactly know what to say to him, "please don't say anything just enjoy the silence"

"I'll get us out of here baby I promise" he said,

"Don't make promises you can't keep" I shuffled away from him and sat a few inches to his left away from his embrace; as soon as I had moved I was cold in need of his arms to be wrapped around me,

"Please Adam don't block me out" he sighed,

"Just get us out of here Xavier so help me god I will throw all of your clothes out when I get home" I snapped at him,

"Okay okay I'll try" he stood up and tip-toed delicately to the door, I watched as he pressed his ear gently to the door and stood for a few minutes,

"I don't hear anything" he whispered over to me,

"Is the door open?" The surge of excitement built up inside me hoping the door was open; I heard the door handle rattle and swung open,

"Babe it's open" he whispered, "this seems too easy surely they aren't stupid enough to leave the door unlocked"

"Why are you complaining move!" I quietly exclaimed,

"Ssh, it seems too easy stay here and I'll check out the place before we move" I nodded and waited apprehensively. It felt like he was gone for ages; hours even,

"Xavier!" There was no response I began to fear the worse, "Xavier" I called again,

"Adam" eventually I heard his voice calling me, "Adam come on" his voice was a little more adamant; following his instruction I pelted down the stairs but tripped as I went tumbling down to the bottom and hitting my face off the floor,

"Xavier" I cried out, "help me" struggling to my feet my weight was lifted and the warm smell of Xaviers aftershave filled my nose,

"Come quick" his voice desperate and needing, "Adam now they've returned" taking my hand he pulled me to the back of the house and out the back door,

"Not a sound" he whispered his eyes bore onto mine with desperation and the need to be silent in the worries we'd be found out and dragged back to the cold damp dark room,

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY'VE GONE!" A loud shriek of a woman's shrill voice was heard from inside the house, "FIND THEM AND BRING THEM BACK!"

"Adam move now come on" Xavier pulled my hand and we ran to the side of the cabin the surrounding area dreary and dull,

"Adam we need to head to the river down stream" taking my hand he clasped tight hold of my hand pulling me further back away from the cabin but making sure the trees hid us.

We had been running for a while and Xavier stopped catching his breath,

"Where are we?" I asked glancing out at the surrounding clearing,

"Babe I don't know we need to head to a further area and find a place to stop tonight everything will be a lot more clearer in daylight" he said but his voice was quivering; I felt his hand clutch mine as he pulled me sprinting in the farther direction away from the cabin, just then the sound of a gunshot quaked through my soul as fear emerged,

"Adam!" He exclaimed, "run..." Was all he said before he released my hand and we were sprinting through the woods.
