Skylar's POV
Finally new year's eve is here.
Summer's mom is throwing a party tonight at her house and we're supposed to go. Right now I'm driving back home, I was at my parents visiting and letting them know I won't be coming by tonight. I also saw Luke, it was nice seeing my older brother I missed him. He got married some years ago and its now expecting his first child with his wife, they're a lovely couple and honestly I can't wait to be an aunt again.
I also invited Charlie for tonight's party, I've already told her that Summer and I are back together and she was very supportive actually. I tought things would be weird between us but they're not which I'm glad, Charlie besides being my PA she's my friend and I would hate for that to end. Now I need to tell that to Summer.
When I got home I found Summer going through her clothes with her back turned to me, she looked like she just took a shower.
"Hey babe, what are you doing?" I said walking towards her and wrapping my arms around her from behind.
"I'm trying to figure out what I should wear for tonight."
"You'll look beautiful in anything you put on."
"What kind of help is that?!" She walked off to search on another suitcase.
Jeez she seems to be on a mood right now. I don't think telling her about Charlie right now is a good idea, unless I want her to kick me out of the house.
"You know I need to... do some important stuff... yeah, I'll let you get ready in peace, I'll come by later." I slowly went out of the room while she kept going through her things not paying me any mind. I then heard her hum in acknowledge before I went out.
I should probably start thinking what am I going to wear for tonight too but I usually don't take long choosing so I have no rush. I threw myself on the loveseat thats on the back, now I have to wait I don't know how long for Summer to be ready which is a bummer because I'm bored as hell.
I sighed, this is going to be a long day.
-
"Summer babe hurry up, we gotta go!"
"Coming!" She said as she walked downstairs.
It took four hours before I was able to see her. Four long, boring and painful hours. But now we're ready and good to go... and running late.
"How do I look?" Summer asked me.
I walked towards her and pulled her to me by the hips. "Beautiful," I kissed her lips, "We better get going." She nodded with a smile and we got out of the house.
The ride to Summer's mom house was long, the traffic was awful and it took us like an hour to get there, which is the like triple the time it usually take us. But we're finally here, the house's venue was full of cars Summer told me they invited a bunch of friends since they don't really have other relatives and Jane doesn't have either other than Brooklyn. I don't much about Summer's family other than her mother's parents kicked her out when she got pregnant with Summer and her dad was never in the picture.
But now they have their own little family and I'm really happy for them.
"Lets go find my mom," Summer pulled me across the house full of guests.
It took us a while and several people stopping to greet us until we found Erica who was accompanied by Jane and their kid.
"Summer, Skylar you're finally here! What took you so long?" Her mom gave us a hug to each of us and so did Jane.
