"Go back to class."

"Why don't you go back to class?" (Y/N) challenged.

"I am. We're heading in the direction of that stupid hero's class." It took a moment for (Y/N) to understand that the stupid hero he was referring to was probably her brother.

"Maybe I need something from your class," she replied, "You never know."

"You are so annoying and I don't even know your name."

(Y/N) didn't reply to that. If he needed to know her name, the time would come. She wouldn't be the one to tell him. As they got closer to the 1B classroom, (Y/N) could feel the irritation bubbling inside him.

"Do you actually need something?" Monoma asked and she nodded. He rolled his eyes dramatically as he opened the door.

"Thought you abandoned us there, Monoma," (Y/N) heard her brother's voice say. The minute that he looked towards the door and saw her, he put down his book. "I'll be gone for a while. Kendou, keep the class in check."

"Are you sure you should be here?" He asked after closing the door.

"I have a dilemma," (Y/N) confessed as she explained her situation. Her brother listened to every word she said and nodded along, considering the situation.

"Why don't you just tell them?" He asked, and when he saw her deadpan look, he sighed. "Or maybe I could write a letter to the parents for you."

"Please. Thank you."

"If you have nothing else to say, I'll be going back to my job now."

When she went back to class, all (Y/N) could focus on was the upcoming funeral. While the rest of her classmates were busy training and brainstorming strategies for the sports festival, (Y/N)'s brain was caught up with how things were going to be.

"Did you hear what I said, (L/N)-san?" It was Iida. He had reverted back to her last name after Katsuki threw a fit about it. (Y/N) told him that it was fine but Iida didn't want any tension brewing in the class.

"Sorry I wasn't paying attention."

"How is your training going for the sports festival?" He asked, "Midoriya has been training extra hard and the rest of us are doing our best as well."

Oh.

"I'm not participating," (Y/N) told him. It was strange how the small detail slipped past her mind. She had forgotten to tell the others about it. "I have other things that I need to focus on."

She could practically see the shock in her friend's face. Izuku, who also heard the statement from a distance, had a look of confusion on his face before he put the two together.

"The UA Sports Festival is one of the most anticipated events!" Iida exclaimed, doing his usual hand movements, "There will be hero agencies scouting us. If you miss out on this, you'll miss out on important opportunities."

She knew. She knew all this. When she finalized her decision, Aizawa-sensei had warned her about all the consequences. She knew all this and yet she still wanted to give it up. These opportunities would come again. She needed some time to rest.

"This may be cheating but I was thinking that I could go with Ame this once. He's technically a pro hero as well."

Before Iida could say anything, Izuku just patted his shoulder and distracted him. (Y/N) was grateful for that. It was already hard enough making the decison; she didn't need people to remind her of the consequences all the time.
