I sighed and rubbed my face tiredly. I went towards the closet when I realized Thibbault is still in my room. I looked behind me to find him scratching the back of his neck nervously and he seemed to be a little hesitant.

"What is it?" I couldn't help myself asking him in a sharp voice.

"Is Lil bro still mad at me?" His voice was teasing.

"Oh no, I'm so privileged to have you as my brother."

"I'm so delighted to know that and you should be, of course."

I shot him a glare in return. He rolled his eyes and veered a topic. "Do you want to go with me or Dad?"

I bit my lip nervously. "If you're free, then can you please take me there? Because I don't want Dad to leave his important work for me."

"Jeez, you overthink a lot."

"Maybe I do." I shrugged.

"I can say that, undoubtedly." I heard him mutter under his breath while strolling out of my room.

I took a deep breath and pulled out a pair of blue jeans and an orange jacket with a black tee.

After getting ready, I quietly went downstairs and to the living room where I found Thibbault sitting on the couch, tapping away on his phone.

"I have talked to Dad and you can go with me." He retorted, without looking up from his phone. "You go and wait for me in the driveway and I'll be coming in a few minutes."

"Go." He hissed but I didn't dare to step forward towards the door.

"You would turn this few minutes into half an hour."

"Connor, move. Don't stand ahead of me." I felt myself flinching a little at his sudden voice or shout.

I stormed out of the front door and to the driveway, only to wait for him. Just a moment ago, Thibbault was teasing me in my room and I'm curious to know what got him angry that he shouted at me angrily.

I didn't say anything wrong to him, did I?

It's probably because I didn't listen to him at once.

To my dismay, he showed up after a few minutes as he told me.

"Get in." He demanded.

"Are you mad at me?" I whispered; fidgeting my feet.

"I'm not mad at you, Lil bro. It was just something going on with Harper and I got angry but I'm sorry for shouting at you." He let out a sharp breath and as his eyes turned to the expression on my face, he burst into laughter. "Believe it or not, I don't like speaking to you like that."

"You ready?"

I shook my head in disbelief that what I have gotten myself into and my brother knew, I was far from being ready.

"It would be okay."

His hand reached out to the door and he pushed it open with taking a last glance at me and there, a tall woman emerged.

She was in her mid-30s. She had short silver hair with chocolate brown eyes and seemed to have a warm and caring personality.

"Hello, Connor." She greeted us warmly, shooting a pleasing smile. "And Thibbault."

Thibbault shot her a small smile back and before I saw my brother begin to leave, I felt my eyes widened in anxiety to be alone with a stranger. With a trembling hand, I let my hand reach up to grab the sleeve of his jacket.
